so i am playing a trournament mid february and only had 2 games with LM up to now, i plan playing lots more unitll then tough. i do understand how the army works and individual unit tactics even tough they are a bit different from skaven, some tactics remain (i.e. flee with skinks, counter charge with saurus). so i've come up with these 2 lists and have to chose one of them.

Scar-Vet w/ LA, BBoC (or sword of battle) and Shield of the Mirrored Pool on cold one
(he rides beside teh COC's and that until will draw a lot of fire, mostly magical)

Skink Priest lvl 2, plaque of tepok and EotG

Skink Priest lvl 2 Diadem and Sroll

    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers

3x 15 Saurus w/ Spear, Standard and Musician

5 CoC Standard, Musician, Huanchi's Blessed Totem

    3 Terradons

    3 Salamanders +1 Handler

    alternative:

Scar-Vet, LA, BBoC (or sword of battle), Enchanted Shield on Cold One

Skink Chief, Stegadon War-Spear on Stegadon
(normal stegadon for the armor ignoring bolts and the range)

    Skink Priest, Diadem, EotG

    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers

3x 15 Saurus with spear, standard, musician

    5 CoC standard musician

    2 Salamander +2 handlers

these are the 2 lists i've thought about, teh 2nd one seems a bit cheesy with 2 stegs... not really but people might see it as cheesy, its a friendly tournament.

any help is apreciated, thanks in advance

I like the first list. I think giving up the steg is worth the ter and sally. You still get one steg with EotG (which is all I ever plan on playing) and you get march block and some pretty decent shooting. IMO the first one is better, and the second one seems a little noob.

i did try the 2nd list the other day... failed miserably because i was afraid to charge a hydra with the warspear on turn 2... that ended badly.
i wouldn't call it noobish, more like simple, it doesn't ave much tactic to it, but it still has some.
i remade the 1st list to make it a bi more viable, here it goes:

Scar vet with BBoC, Shiled of the mirrored pool, LA and CO

Priest lvl 2 with EotG, plaque of tepok and wardrum
(had the points for the plaque and i like to increase my chances to get certain spells like uranons thunderbolt and celestial shield, possibly the comet aswell)

Chief with LA, Shield, Staff of the lost sun and terradon
(i want to make the terradons more versatile after they drop their rocks and start march blocking, i probably won't face any war machienes)

edit: thanks for the feedback, i apreciate it

    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers

3x 15 Saurus, spears, musician, standard

6 COC, musician, standard, plaque of dominion
(i love that banner, wizards don't have very high Ld and if i chatch them outside the range of the general...)

    3 Terradon

    2x Salamanders, +2 Handlers
( 3 seems a lot and my luck with the art dice is horrible, i roll 3 missfires out of 5 rolls)

i'm probably gonna face WoC, DoC, Skaven, DE and Brets at the tournament, with possible another DoC and LM player

I would just like to clarify one thing.
Are your Salamanders together in a group or are the two separate units?

2 units sound better, but unfortunetely the point limit only allows for 1 rare choice :(

I like the chief on ter with the staff. That's a really cool idea and I may have to steal it from you.

played VC today with the last list posted... solif victory for me. it was quite lucky i guess...d his black knighs managed to miss all their attacks against my COC and i killed them, but then the blood knights kileld the COC and a unit of saurus onlyo to be oblitareted by another unit of saurus because the only model in BtB when i charged them was the champ and i won by static CR.... on the other hand my priest died due to 2 miscasts wich caused 2 W with no armor save so by the end of the game my stegadon was fleeing. the terradons dropped rocks on a corpse cart in turn 3 and untill turn 5 they were unable to cause 1 more wound to the damn thing... all in all it was a nice game and the banner of the COC's won my game making 2 of his units (icluding a blood knight unit) unable to do anything for 2-3 turns due to stupidity at Ld 7.

i like the list, but the salamanders managed to capture a table quarter and eat 7 skinks.... no casualties to the enemy, i think of swapping the 2 salamanders with a unit of 3 kroxigors for the next game and see how it goes, i also need to lear now to use terradons properly
