so I need some help: Playing a thousand pt tournament and not sure what to take for a rare choice. Currently running 2 razordons but could drop them and my steg to get an ancient. Please advice to best rare choice, the rest of my army is 3 skirmisher, 3 krox, 3 terradons, and mounted scarvet. LORD K
Some guy at another forum came up with this list for his 1k. Looks pretty solid. Heroes: Scar Veteran: - 139 Punten - Great Weapon - Light Armour - Shield - Glyph Necklace - Venom of the FIrefly Frog Skink Priest: - 115 Punten - Dispell scroll - Diadem Core: 17 Saurus Warriors: 234 - Spears - Full Command 11 Skinks: - 77 Punten Blowpipes 11 Skinks: - 77 Punten Blowpipes Special: Stegadon: - 235 Punten Rare: 4 Terradon Riders: - 120 Punten Hope it helps you out.
I can see that being solid except I am not bringing any Saurus to the table, and conceding the magic phase so no priest either.... HMMM still not sure if I want sally/razzor or Ancient
I thought so to but have played about 20 games at 1k and it has only hurt me once, i the tournament I am playing in this weekend I will be very surprised to see empire armies going magic heavy. but it is a roll of the dice I am going to take
You have a very mobile force, so personally I would keep with Razordons just to protect your flank as a flank charge can kill your heavy hitting units. You could just not have a rare choice and have some CoR to go with your Scar-Vet?
list worked quite well for me at the tournament! sadly out of 3 games I went 1-2. Bad first draw VS a friend I went with who had Beast with 4 chariots, and a giant so I struggled, Second game VS demons who we found out later cheated massively on all 3 of his games. Last game I won easily Vs empire and that was the end of it. Placed in the top 1/2 with DE winning followed by Beast and a different Demon player. second day I got a 1500 pt game in using the EOTG for the first time and realized that it will never leave the table again! simply awesome!
bad part is I should have known better! I have never played demons and he was a late arrival to the tournament so I did not look at the book. He was claiming T4 on his T3 demons, S6 when S5 and that Killing blow working on the to hit roll and wound roll. There were other smaller things as well. I would have chalked it up to a mistake if it were not for his reaction when I caught it on turn 4!! Wish I could have replayed the game would have got me in the top 6. Had Stegadon, and Krox in combat VS a unit of Core demons for 2 full turns and he said they were T4 S6 wow that unit crumbling would have changed the game for me! But oh well I learned to check everything in the opponents book now!
