Hi all, just wanted some advice on a themed skink army that I have in the works. I haven't really had a chance to play the army list yet because I don't own all the models needed, so I thought I would check it out to see if it works. But I don't want to use Saurus, just want to keep it all Skink, am I a lost cause ? XD
I really like this list, i would just make the slann the BSB as the chief will get killed too easily. Most opponents could just run a speedbump unit into the skrox and allocate all attacks on him Metal is a great choice for the slann, all skink armies do very well in the current UK tournament scene. Heres a list i was going to take to a event in Bristol: Light slann BSB, +1PD, Soul of stone, plaque of extra spell Scar vet, cold one, LA, charmed shield, dawnstone, burning blade Scar vet, cold one, LA, GW, dragonhelm, amulet of Itzl, firefly venom Priest, cube of darkness 6X10 skirmisher skinks 2X10 cohort skinks (with musicians) 2X3 terradons 2X5 camo skinks salamander 2 salamander 1 razordon 1 razordon Bit different, some things are effected by the comp i had at the time, becalming and cupped hands banned etc. The great thing about a skink army is that you dont need to field blocks.
Thanks for the input. I didn't know lore of metal was a good lore, I'm just using it because of the theme for the army XD. I am limiting myself to what I can and can't use. Basically if it doesn't have a skink then its not in the army. I am kind of going against the usual playstyle as far as I can see. I used to play against the lizardmen army way back in the day and I remember the frustration against play the skirmish army. I put the block formations into the army, one for the bsb and chief and the other for the Slann I see there is a lot of praise for the Chameleon Skinks... but I have a preferance for the Terradons. I recently bought a Stegadon but I'm not sure how to use it. Maybes I could use it for bits or a normal Steg or Ancient. Thanks for your help and sorry for being stubborn ^^;;;
Metal isnt amazing but iit is very good when combined with skink armies as it partly covers your weakness (armour). Alot of people use skrox blocks in combat lizzie lists, just not normally unsupported, the skirmish army is really where the lizardmen list is at the moment competitvely (good or bad). Some combat builds can work but typically use the lore of light. Terradons are great and are used differently to chameleons, stegs are ok ive used an enngine quite a bit and i think i might start trying a normal/chiefspear one in my armies (got new model too).
