Hi there, I have 2 lists for critique below. I've been finding the new book quite refreshing with the lots of new ideas and possible viable builds. Here are my first 2. Saurus Oldblood - Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, GW Saurus Scar-Veteran - BSB, LA, Sh, Stegadon Helm, Shrieking Blade Skink Priest - lvl 2 (beasts) - Cube of Darkness Skink Priest - lvl 2 (beasts) - Dispel Scroll Skink Priest - lvl 1 (beasts) - Scroll of Shielding 29 Saurus - Sh, FC 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 8 Kroxigors - GW 3 Ripperdactyls 3 Ripperdactyls 3 Ripperdactyls 2 Jungle Swarms Bastiladon - Solar Engine Salamander Salamander OR Saurus Oldblood - Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, GW Saurus Scar-Veteran - BSB, LA, Sh, Stegadon Helm, Shrieking Blade Skink Priest - lvl 2 (beasts) - Cube of Darkness Skink Priest - lvl 2 (beasts) - Dispel Scroll Skink Priest - lvl 1 (beasts) - Scroll of Shielding 28 Saurus - Sh, FC 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 8 Kroxigors - GW 8 Kroxigors - GW 3 Ripperdactyls 2 Jungle Swarms Salamander Salamander So, 2 lists with the same character loadout but different special choices to a degree. I like that skink priests can now take beasts so I loaded up on it and dual "scroll" ability. I'm not sure the third priest with the scroll is needed though. The 2 saurus characters go with the saurus block. I think the second list is better since it has the 3rd mainline combat unit but the first has some fun with the Rippers and their ability to Ink multiple units but still all benefit. Anyway, comments and suggestions are welcome.
I think both are viable but i will plump for list 1 for its greater variety. Couple of things though: Give the Oldblood a shield- might as well make that armour save 1+. I actually think in your list a Bastiladon is better off with the Arc of Sotek. You have jungle swarms that you can increase the size of and the D3 initiative bonus has limited value in your list because the krox are going last regardless with GW's. My main concern is the lack of "grinding" units. You have units that can dish it out, but not many that can really take it as well. I think the list may struggle against horde armies that will grind your numbers down. Yours aye
Latest incarnation: Saurus Oldblood - Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, Dragonbane Gem, GW Saurus Scar-Veteran - BSB, LA, Enchanted Shield, Dawnstone, Biting Blade Tetto'Eko Skink Priest - lvl 2 (beasts) - Dispel Scroll 28 Saurus - Sh, FC 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - blowpipe 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 10 Skink Skirmishers - Sh, Javelin 8 Kroxigors - GW 8 Kroxigors - GW 3 Terradons 3 Terradons Salamander Salamander I dropped 2 priests, the swarms, and rejigged my BSB's items for a second unit of terradons and Tetto'Eko. Tetto'Eko will supply much needed long-range fire support and vanguard for 1-3 units, porbably the kroxigors and/or saurus. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
