A few years back I bought a bunch of lizardmen from craigslist. I got roughly 80 saurus some of which are very different looking than the others. Im just curious if there is a website where I can look at all the current and previous models of the lizardmen army so I know what I have. Also can someone let me know if my purchase was a good deal for 200$ I got 80 saurus + 2 saurus cast nip 60 skink archers + 3 cast nip 2 temple guard + 2 nip 5 saurus riding cold ones (one of them is cast riding on a plastic cold one of a diffefent model) 1 skink priest? Cast A bunch of bits. and if you could what would you value these at. thanks in advance for any answer to these questions.
As a new Gunslinger to these parts myself I'd say the best option is to go to the Games Workshop site online and see what they are asking new for what you bought. I think you made out fairly well though.
Hello! I am pretty sure I know which models you are referring to, as I have many of them myself. A great place to go is http://www.sologends.com and navigate your way to the Games Workshop brand and then go to the Citadel Miniatures catalogue links which is on the right side of the page. It's all listed my year, so you will have to do some searching. For a quicker reference, would they look like these? http://www.solegends.com/citcat1998/1998P161-02.htm and/or this for the Temple Guard? http://www.solegends.com/citcat1998/1998P165-02.htm. When it comes to model value, and it truly comes down to what the buyer is looking for and willing to pay. A couple big factors are if they are still on the sprue or unpainted for plastic (some people are fine with it being assembled and primed, but some are not) as painted plastic is more work to get off than what the model is usually worth and too much paint (like painting over a bad paint job) will start to take away model detail. For assembled plastic, some are fairly concerned on mold lines and whether they are removed or not. Usually, painted metal is fairly acceptable as that can easily be stripped, but that would in most cases lower the value a little. Also, many of the metal models needed/s greenstuff to fill in the spaces that the molds didn't quite fill - so if that is done to a table standard or higher, that is a bonus. As for a guesstimated value of what you got? Some pictures would be much easier for some of us to help you out with - myself included. The plastic skink archers and the older plastic saurus warriors don't go for much. However, to the right collector the older metal ones could. Personally, I really like the older metal Saurus Command and metal Skink archers/command. They have a lot of personality. - Lord Cedric
