First real army list. Many of my choices are dictated by the models I have or will have soon, But I bought them with a list like this in mind. Besides general thoughts I would like to know what you think about the scar-vets. I have them in the saurus blocks now but I could easily put them on cold ones and leave them in their units. Seems like alot of people do this, but doesn't it suck having your two infantry blocks and your cavalry all subject to stupidity? I know most people run dispel scrolls but I am hoping the 6 dispel dice are enough to save me, I would retool it for a magic heavy opponent. Balanced List-1995pts (2249 with italics characters) Characters Slann -2 Disciplines, Cupped hands of the old ones, -Bane head -BSB Skink Priest -2nd level, EOTG, Plaque of Topec Scar-Vet -Light armor, Shield, Sword of the Hornet Scar-Vet -Light armor, Great Weapon -Talisman of protection -Charm of the Jaguar Warrior Core 18 saurus -spears, full command 18 saurus -spears, full command 10 Skink skirmishers 10 Skink skirmishers 10 Skink Cohort Special 10 Temple Guard -Standard, Musician 6 Cold One Riders -Musician 3 Terradon Riders
looks pretty good. which disciplines on the slann? i assume rumination and mystery? why the sword of the hornet? i'd be tempted to stick a scar vet on a cold one so he can join the CoC if needed.
About the scar-vets on CO, the stupidity isn't that bad, you've got high Ld and Cold-Blooded, I've never failed a stupidity check with my scar-vet ever!
I think that I will rework this to put at least one of the Scar-vets on cold ones. Like I said this is my first real list and I haven't had much play experience. I looked up the probabilities and at leadership 8 its 89.4% chance to pass, plus I am pretty sure I get to use the generals LD if I am close enough so I would be rolling on LD 9 (94.9%). For disciplines I will almost always be doing mystery and rumination. Why the sword of the Hornet? Always strike first is pretty good, I figured the scar-vet would knock off a model or two from the front rank of just about anything we fight, and that leaves less to fight back against my woefully low initiative saurus. I will look at it again when I rework the vets to mount one or both of them.
I think mounting the Scar-Vets on cold ones is the best idea. So now they look like Scar-Vet -Light armor, Shield, Sword of Battle, -Cold One Scar-Vet -Light armor, Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec -Cold One I have to remove one saurus when adding these scar-vets.
I see you dropped the sword of the hronet, wich is actually pretty good, knocking some models of the first rank of before he can hit is nice, I would give one of them BBoC(my favorite) and the other SotH.
