So I am facing Warriors of Chaos next tuesday and I am afraid, very afraid. I have faced warriors once before and a nurgle daemon prince literally killed everything I had and it was not fun. The comp for this game is the following: No unit (excluding characters) can be over 400 points, no double rares and no triple specials. We are also using the ETC magic (only 5 dice on casts, 4 if death and so on...) Heres my first draft, quite hero/lord heavy. Oldblood and slann will go to TG. I cant add any more skinks as I dont have them painted but im thinking about replacing oldblood with some saurus cavalry and/or changing the slann to high magic so I can destroy magic items and move my blocks better. I think there will be alot of 1+ armour and lore of metal signature would be really nice. Im thinking also maby squeesing points and taking a unit of 2 salamanders so I could burn warriors. Hi Eelo first of all im not familiar with the ETC rules but i will give it a try anyway and i have not calculated the points so i would probably do the following put your oldblod on a coldone and give him ward save 4+ with talisman, LA and GW this will give him a 1+/4++ save and since chaos have higher Ini on almost any unit then the 2+ str is very nice. i have never used the MR talismans on my Slann but i feel is going to be redunant if he is using nurgle magic (from my experience) they dont have a lot of damaging magic (and plague wind is without saves??) my tactic would be to place the oldblood (and maybe one scar) in the proximity of the templeguard so a combined charge possibly old blood to the flank would be possible and then the scarvets with the saurus, and this is to have a almost equal thret from each unit. hope it helps
