Greetings all I was recently ranting about TG not being used without a Slann. Coming up in a couple of days I will do exactly that. A no Slann list works just fine for me; I just finished painting that sweet a** looking Old Blood that came out recently. The theme of this army: target saturation. ***** Old Blood General Sword of Might, Armor of Destiny, Carnosaur Ammy, Dragoncurse Stone, Shield Skink Shammy Lev 2, Diadem of Power ***** 28 Saurus w/ Spears Musician, Standard 23 Saurus [General goes here] Musician, Standard 24 Skink Cohort w/ 3 Kroxigors Musician, Standart 10 Skirmishers 10 Skirmishers 10 Skirmishers ***** 24 Temple Guard Musician, Standard of Discipline 6 Chameleon Skinks I know it really isn't a normal list but we've decided on a friendly game. My buddy will bring Ogres to the Table but I feel I didn't make an anti-Ogre list. To make it a bit more fluffy I could prolly replace the smaller Saurus unit with a decent size unit of CoC and use them with the Skink/Kroxies to move up both flanks of the Table. By the way, how could I stop an Ogre Horde without Magic? Such a unit scares me. 54 Attacks, Impact and Trampling hits? Against Saurus that's 27 Hits, so about 14 Wounds plus Impact and Trampling. I would have to have a really large unit of Sarus not to run against such a charge. With 18 Ogres, when would I still be Steadfast after casualties? Thanks 4 the input <Carnivorous>
To take on the Ogre horde, you have to be crafty with your skinks. Take two of your skink skirmisher units as dedicated re-directors for the horde. Of course they will be tossed under the bus, but if you can pull an Ogre horde effectively you will save yourself from facing it for at least 2 turns. More if you are sneaky. Oh, and keep your Oldblood away from them. Frenzy could be his downfall.
