Hello, I'm new to this forum, but I've been playing Lizardmen ever since way back when they were in the box set for the rulebook (remember, with Bretonnians?). After a couple years absence from Warhammer, me and a few friends of mine have decided to get back into it again. With my Lizardmen, I have another friend returning to his Vampire Counts, a second going High Elves, and a third taking up his Wood Elves again.

Back in 7th edition, the new WE army book really proved challenging, almost insurmountable in fact. Now I'm wondering what this balance is like again, and I thought I'd seek suggestions and advice.

The size of our games vary, but I like to plan for 2000 points as a solid base. This is what I am thinking:

Oldblood.
Scar-Veteran
Skink Priest with EotG

Large Skinks + Kroxigor unit, somewhere in the region of 30 for horde bonuses perhaps.

~16 Saurus Warriors inc full command
~16 Saurus Warriors inc full command

Skink skirmishers
Skink skirmishers

Chameleon skinks

Salamanders

Javelins seem superior to blowpipes now, what with the added shield bonus (except on chameleon's, of course), though I might drop them or the skirmisher unit to fit in some Terradons to drop on archers. The Scar-Veteran will either be a BSB, or JSoD (if this is even still feasible). The EotG is there to panic my opponoent (like his Treeman does to me), protect my saurus' from fire, and maybe roast a few dryads.

How does this look? I'm still settling in with the new 8th edition rules. Was 8th a buff or nerf to WE? What item combinations would be useful?
