At 2000 pts, I would think 20 TGs is a rather big pts sink and you would success would depend a lot that unit. Try to think of it that these unit should be able to pay their pts by dealing out equaly carnage to your opponent.

I would go for slightly smaller units of TGs and maybe of saurus as well to add some flank protectors. You really is in big trouble if your blocks get flanked, so whatch out for enemy cavalry!

Forget about the TGs and take a Battle standard for the slann. Then take more spear armed saurus warriors and you are ready for a fieldtest. What armies are you playing against?

Mainly Dwarves, VC, and Britons for now. Yea the BSB was on the Slaan already kind of forgot to list that. So I should just drop TG all together or drop them down. Lowest I will go is 16 to still get rank bonuses with 5 across with 20 I can get 3 ranks with 6 across. If I get rid of the TG where would the Slaan go?

Well with my Experence, having that Temple Guard is the best thing you can do. I would say maybe lower them, but I played a Tournament were I had 20 and they did well, but one game my slann killed 10 by miscasting.

Maybe drop the Saurus to 15 and get 2 units of them, drop 3 Kroxies, or so, cause Saurus Spears is one great unit, defeated a Bret questing knights when THEY charged me, against my 18. For my I rarely think some of the Banners are worth the price. some i might say worth it in some situations. Also you need some fast calv or just terradons, maybe Razzies or Salies.

If you want you can drop the Saurus unit and have more Skinks and go with more special and rare choices.

    Thats my 2cents

I like this army alot better, becouse it would exel in taking charges and generaly just be tough. Your enemy would have to be an smart general and be able to outmanouver you to get the upper hand(unles you're facing chaos and he chooses the same tactic, fielding only big blocks of warriors and knights and the like..)

March ahead at a steddy pace. Your sallys/razors on one flank should be enough to ensure that flank, but you would like to have your EoTG close to the center just to give as many units as possible the 5+ward in the first rounds, so the kroxies would be an easy target on the other side(if that is where you choose to field them).
Hide your skinks behind the TG unit and prevent your opponent from marchblocking you.
hmmm, as I see it, the only unit that doesn't fit perfecly in this army is the kroxies..

how do you plan to use them?

I think I would have taken a unit of 3 terradons and another unit of skinks insted since that would threatn his wizards and force them to be inside units as well as take out potentialy deadly warmachines with these flying rock dropping cavalry. the extra unit of skinks would just ensure your defence vs marchblocking and could also be used as a light flanker to stop enemy light cav, harry enemy block e.c.. Your true achilles heel in this army is one of your flanks though... be aware of that when you do your deployment and you should do just fine :)

    Good luck!

I got a question about the Slaan and "Look out sir" does the slaan get the benefits of that or can the cannonballs get them easily? Just curious cuz was thinking of droping the Totem of Prophecy for the Immunity to non magical attacks.

Look out sir works on Slann since he is US3 nowdays.

If i had to play that army, I'd leave the focus of mystery and take higher state of conciousness (you can still get 5 spells with the plaque of tepok) + forget about (so many) temple guards, (take 11 or 16, but not 20!) They don't need one rank bonus and such a big unit of expensive troops is quite a targer for enemy handgunners and multishot artillery like the rocket battery, organ gun, hellblaster etc.

Your list might work against most armies, but I'm used to playing against foes that use many units like the Empire, O&G and skaven, so I prefer saurus over TG most of the time, mostly because of they are cheaper and spears on a S4 A2 unit is seriously scary for its cost.
