    Hey all...

So first post... i have been looking around here for some time, i dont own any lizardmen yet (but i have a Tau army). I do have access to a good deal of lizardmen that i can borrow. The thing is that i would like your input, since im new to this platform, on wether or not my list would be good. This winter will there be a small tournament for new WHF players in my area and i will join it, i dont find that people are trying to be compeditive but more going for an army with a theme. I will be meeting High elves, Dwarf, Empire, ogre and chaos.

first off i will be buying certain units since i love the model(s) and also the combat potential. I am not a skink army person but do feel that they belong to support my Saurus blok. That should be the historie and now the list.

    point total: 1997

    Hero/lord (776)

    Oldblood Carnosaur
    -Gw - blood roar
    -AoD - loopingstride
    -dawnstone
-potion of strength (might be overkill)

    Skink priest (lvl2)
    -dispel scroll

    skink priest (lvl2)
    - feedback scroll

    Core (610)

    Saurus warriors x 40
    -Full Command
    -spears

    2 x skink skirmishers x 10

    Special (361)

    solardon

    7 chamoskinks

    3 rippers

    Rare (250)

    Ancient stegadon
    - sharpend horns

so a little this that could be altered (what comes to my mind)
    - the oldblood could be a scar vet and therefore add a Battle standard
    - the skinks could be cohort to save point for other stuff
    - rippers could be terradons to save more points
    - change both skins to lvl 1 to save more point but would put me farther behind in the magic phase.
    - i have found my magic phase to be not good the last games where i have used a slann since i have almost every phase rolled one dice with a 1 -.- i know he is superior but i just LOVE the carno.

anyway i hope you can help me tweek my list :D

What lore are you thinking of taking on your priests? Unless you are really going for a spell like comet or transfomation/amber spear the second wizard will be less useful to your army then a scarvet, or scarvet CO. for 4 more points you can get scarvet CO GW AoD (just give your OB tali of pres). This guy is as strong as they come in our army. Most people make him BSB aswell but that means you need to find the 25 points for it :)
I love ripperdactyls, but one unit does the better part of nothing. If they are WM hunters, terradons are prob just better, or even just a skink chief spear LA charmed shield.

OB GW LA Steg helm ToP
    Carnosaur Loping and roar

    lvl2 Best priest w/scroll
    Scarvet GW CO AoD BSB

    40x Saurus stnd muso
    skirmishers
    skirmishers

    Basti
    7 Camos
    3x Terradons
    Ancient Steg w/ horns

This gives you 2 tough as nails warriors, wyssans, chaff, WM hunters and a big ol block of saurus. Good times :)

That is some excellent points you got there, im just not convinced that my antimagic phase is strong enough, and that is why i bring the feedback scroll for the opponent that throws 6 dice and go IF on the spell... there is a big posibility to actually kill the caster especially if its a hero choice, would it be stupid to hope for a shutdown of their magic phase... secondly i read somewhere that "the savage beast of horros" (5th spell of beast) would target both Carno and rider since it says model in the spell description and if that was the case then i would like to double my chances of getting it. But as i said i like the idea of getting the scarvet in with my block and he is definately a tough son of a B.

i have only tried rippers once and that time did they die before even getting a single hit off... the where charged by an arch lector on waraltar with did enough impacthits to kill them.. so i dont know the combat potential compaired to terradons. can you help with that. :)

Savage beast reads "character" which is a subtype. Pretty clearly outlined somewhere in the BRB that I'm to lazy to find. Your Carnosaur has 0 chance of getting the extra attacks/str.
If they IF a spell you can't use the scroll anyway. page 33 BRB
With out a level 4 your always going to be a little weak in the magic phase. Feedback is more cute then competitive. Unless you know your vsing a lvl2 Demon Prince/blender lord. Plus your list couldn't give a stuff about ruby ring. If they spend their time going after skinks in their magic phase that's a win for you.
Hmmmm just had a thought, if you use it on a unit of warlocks what happens?

Anyway I just think a scarvet will do more. But we are all different generals. Play a few games and you'll find out which one you like more.

I'm not a big fan of terras either, but they are flexible.
As to ripper dmg, against a none toaded target they do well against everything except high armour and elves(they always hit first) and rippers can't take the dmg.
Easily kill warmachines and most chariots if you get the charge.
Against toaded targets, well let's just say they get scary.
And best of all the have KB. You can just end all kinds of characters with only a little bit of luck. So if you see a lord on a peg with no ward, he can only kill 1 before you attack. that means 6 attacks, most likely 4's, so 3 hits. and now you have a 50% chance to KB it. I'd take those odds.

But when I've used them I've been very aggressive. Tetto for vanguard on my blocks or scarvet CO. and then your rippers vanguard as well. Turn 2 my whole army is in their face and a comet is at their back. People make HUGE mistakes when under that kind of pressure.

Hope that's clear, if it isn't just say so and I'll write when I'm sobererer.

i took your advice Madrck and since i werent going for any of the nuke spells (mostly wyssans, which i find very good), i decided to drop one skink priest and add the scar-cowboy and changed rippers for terradons i considered the skink chief but i think that 3 terras take more focus then 1 cheif terra?.
i like the idea of taking tetto'eko for just plain agressiveness and dropping comets... its what he is made for i think and it just seems like a cool way to play... have to try some time :D
