Hi, my next game is agaist dark elves 2000 pts with 250 extra for a named my enemy's general is Crone Hellebron and the banner of hag greif will be in her unit if he plays to form salamander pack 1 salamander pack 2 stegadon 1 chamo skink 6 chamo skink 5 saurus warriors 26 Skirmisher skinks 10 Skirmisher skinks 10 skinks with brave 10 Slann solo, Focus of mystery, focused rumination, higher state of conciousness cupped hands of the old ones bsb obsidian amulet blood statuette of spite Tetto'eko general skink priest aincent steg cube of darkness ironcurse icon on the lore for the slann death, life or light? and any other advice or comments welcome
Your slann has to be your general as he has the highest leadership. He also has the nifty ability to be the BSB and the General. I would also drop the skink cohort unit in favor of adding a couple of chameleons and a couple of saurus warriors. The lores of life and light are the best (in my opinion) for the slann. Light combats the rerolls that elves usually get with high I and ASF (not sure if DE get that). Life can be handy regrowing units and making t8 saurus or t6 skinks. Not to mention the buffs you can get on the stegadons....
Thank you, the cohort is there to protect Tetto'eko, where would you put him? Dark elves don't get ASF as standard however they do have a banner called the banner of hag greif which gives a unit ASF,
ok that battle was .... won before it was fought i think dark elf player turns up with no shooting, 1 4th level sorc (shadow) 1 hydra the cauldron of blood, crone hellebron 1 unit of witch elves 2 spearmen (sorc in one of these) 1 unit black guard 1 unit exectioners he set up on one side of the board with the hydra set to one side so there was a gap but not enough to slip a unit of chaeleons in, but left enough room on the other that both units were in his flank i set up to be coming in on his flank my first turn i triggered tettoko herald of cosmic events, got the comet just in front of his lines, shot magic missiles at the unit with the sorc in it and left him with 4 models with the sorc ( can i pick the a character out in this situation, i rolled a 1 to wound with the stegs giant bow so it doesn't matter) salamaders flamed stuff, on his turn 1 he charged a unit of skimishers with the hydra, they stood and shot (i was told by my opponent to use mutiple shots is that right? took 2 wounds off the hydra, and his battle line moved forward and angled so i no longer was hitting the flank of units. then the comet went off needed a re roll but still went off with 12 inch range and twice did 11 hits destroyed the sorc's unit of spears bar 1 who dies later in the phase to boost a spell (cube didn't work) about 25 elves died to the comet. his magic did nothing his hydra killed the skimishers and charged onward my turn 2 2 steg charge into the black guard, i messed up my magic phase and cast the auto pass leadership on the steg rather then speed of light, the salamders continue killing elves, in the combat phase impact hits and thunderstomps are the only things that wound elves, just enough die to compensate for banner ranks skink deaths and the elves break and we catch them dark elf turn 2 2 charges declared both fall short, however stand and shoot still goes off and reduces the elven host some, the sorc moves into the other spear unit, his magic ammounts to my saurus are toughtness 2 and his sorc loses 3 levels, the hydra breaths and i lose 8 saurus, and no combat my turn 3 the 18 or so saurus charge the spearmen i use free reforms and passed leadership test to march move through the gaps in his line and form up faceing the rear of his units. magic phase 11 dice 3 augments on the saurus so i have ws10 i 10 asf saurus and the elves have -1 to hit and a net on the witch elves who have pretty much avoided everything so far since they haven't been a threat , shooting reduces crones unit to 1 model, in the combat the elves break and run into the stegs set up for the charge should they survive dark elf turn 3 net means no movement hydra begins a dance with the slann and net means witch elves take damage after chrone has joined them my turn 4 i move away from his surving units since shooting and magicing the units seem best and he concedes very happy with light/ heavens magic, didn't think i wish i had life, now onto the skaven they are at a disadvantage since they are down their general so they will have 1800 pts with 200 pts invested in their missing named, so i have a little advantage any suggestions welcome, i've not fought skaven before and i understand they are not reliable but are effective at killing things themselves or the enemy Zamtap
