Hey all, I'm going up for my first tournament soon and I'd appreciate it if you all could look over and provide some feedback to my army list. 1 Slaan Focus of Mystery Focused Rumination Cupped Hands of the Old Ones Battle Standard Bearer 1 Skink Priest Level 2 Ancient Stegadon w/ Engine of the Gods 1 Tiktaq'to 15 Saurus Spears Full Command 10 Skinks 12 Skink Skirmishers 3 Terradon Riders 3 Salamandars 1 Stegadon My idea is to be a fairly magic focused army. I'll use my skinks to draw away enemies and cause diversions while my 2 stegadons and saurus will pound up the elites with the help of the salamanders. The terradon riders are there with Tiktaq'to so I can field them on the oppossite side of the table and start munching on their backline. Please tell me if there is anything to fix or I need a change in my strategy. Thank you!
I must be colorblind because your comments look green, not blue to me. Salamanders in a group of 3 are dangerous because if one misfires, none of them can shoot... So take 2 solo and run them next to each other. If you simply have your heart set on bringing 3, bring a unit of 1 and a unit of 2. Same point cost, you have the extra rare slot, and you can run them together if you want... but having em as seperate "units" is best.
I was thinking the same thing for the salamanders but my 2 rare slots are filled up. I've got the ancient stegadon with the Skink Priest and the hunting pack makes 2. As for Tiktaq'to I mainly picked him because he is my favorite model in this whole game. Even if he's not that good I still won't have an army without him.
TikTaq'To is a pretty cool model, but just run him as a brave instead of a hero. Tells you to do it right on the box. Also you can field 10 Terradons, one of them a brave, for less than the price of this guy. And if you have the money for that many models I would love to see the look on your opponents face when you field them as one unit (also drop rocks would be devastating). Seriously though field two units of three or four, make one a brave to get your favorite model in, and save a bunch of points.
This is not the case. First, the Lizardman FAQ dealt with a singular razordon misfiring, not a group of them. Second, the army book says in the salamander entry "If more than one salamander is firing, resolve each one entirely before proceeding to the next." and "D3 handlers are removed and the salamander does not fire this phase." Salamanders do work better alone in most cases, but if one misfires in a group you still get the other shots.
