the only thing i can think of is getting rid of the ancient steg for another unit of 20 saurus? and making them spears?

A good start. I would drop the unfathomable presence because that is kind of expensive when you can only get as good as a 2+ ward save against magic. You could get the talisman that gives magic resistance for only 30 pts and still save 20.

Also, you may want to take cupped hands of the old ones. Even if I take lore of Life, I use that item. It can save your entire unit of temple guard from a bad miscast.

If you have the salamanders in one unit, drop the extra handlers. The unit shares handlers. If you run them seperately, the extra snack is worth it.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.
