Hey All, I'm new here and thought I'd post my favourite list. CHARACTERS Slann (general + BSB) - Focus Mystery - Focused Rumintation - Bane Head - Cupped Hands = 410pts Skink Priest on Engine of the Gods - Level 2 - Plaque of Tepok - Dispel Scroll = 430pts CORE 18 Saurus - Full Command - Spears = 246pts 10 Skink Skrimishers = 70pts 10 Skink Skrimishers = 70pts SPECIAL 16 Temple Guard ***Slann here*** - Full Command = 291pts 3 Kroxigors = 165pts 3 Kroxigors = 165pts RARE Salamander - 75pts Salamander - 75pts TOTAL POINTS = 1997pts Casting Dice - 9 Dispel Dice - 6 + scroll This is a fairly standard Slann list at 2000pts but with a bit of a twist. A lot of people are curious about the kroxigors and what they bring to the list. I really like these guys and find they are pretty effective in a flanking role close to the Slann. I usually run the two infantry blocks side by side. These are then supported with the krox/steg/salamanders/skinks in a flanking role. The army tends to work well for me, but I'd love to hear your opinions on attempting to refine it a bit. Time of Madness
Really good list. Like. Really Nice. Question. Bane Head. Does it work on spells? Rules wise its really dubious. Has it been Faq'd? Because if it hasn't I don't think it works.
Thanks for the comments. And yes Bane Head works for spells. Well at least my gaming group and the tourney's I've been to play it this way. "The obvious Tip of the Day" Bane Head combined with the lore of metal can work wonders for sniping characters. Time of Madness
Not sure why it would really need a faq. The wording for the item says "All unsaved wounds against a single character are doubled". Which would imply that any unsaved wounds coming from the Slann are doubled to a single enemy character. Time of Madness
I'd say that the slann cast the spell, which did the wound. So in the end the slann still inflicted the wound, so I'd count Bane Head as working in that case. And using lore of metal+bane head sounds like a good idea, easy way to pick off enemy generals. Nice.
I actually noticed another combo too, which depending on who your fighting may work better then the lore of metal. The Lore of Death, you can use steal soul with bane head on an enemy general to the same end as Rule of Burning Iron (except your slann would also gain 1 wound). And the Doom and Darkness might help against an already low leadership army. Guess it depends on who your fighting and preference, I personally love Transmutation of Lead to support my close combats, and would probably pick the lore of metal against any war-machines as well. Anyway... Good Luck.
i don't know why that would matter the spell is coming from the character if you are saying that then you could also say that it would not work with a magic weapon cause it is the weapon doing the wound not the character i think it is pretty clear just re-read that and i am not trying to flame you just trying to point out that the rule is pretty clear and that there really is no argument for spells not working since it says all wounds caused by the bearer and since he caused the spell that caused the wounds i don't really see where there is an issue
