Lord Kroak Skink Priest - Beasts - Level 2 - Cloak of feathers, channelling staff Skink Chief - Ripperdactyl - enchanted shield, egg, light armour, biting blade, luckstone tetto'eko Saurus x 30 & FC Skirmisher x 10 (jav & shield) skirmisher x 10 (jav & shield) Temple guard x 11 CoC x 15 & FC
Replace kroak for a normal slann with highmagic and some nice disciplines and BSB Use about 20 templegaurd (4x6 with slann) Give the channeling staff to your slann with 3D6 channel and give skink priest a dispell scroll If you want to use skinks with javelins use cohorts because you spare out about 40 points (almost a unit cohorts) Remove tetto'eko 40 - 50 saurus warriors instead of 30, FC Replace CoC for unit rippers maybe a stegadon
Your temple guard unit is looking a little thin, would be a waste not to utilize Kroak's -1 to hit in CC. With 11 temple guard I'm not sure what you're saying either; they won't be worth much in combat, so if you're just going for a cheap bunker you might as well use cohorts. If you want them to pack a punch you need at least 20, preferrably more considering you're facing chaos. Also you might be a bit overboard on 15 CoC. I love me some cav, but usually I find units of 5 accompanied by a Scar-Vet or a unit of 6-7 to pretty good flank chargers. Unfortunately they are quite expensive for what you get when you get more than that IMHO. They are also a great target for the skinks wildform. Personally I would add another priest. One for the flying into the middle of your opponents army (maybe carrying a dispel scroll, just use it early) and another priest lv 1 beasts with the cube. Without the extra dice from the channeling slann I think it's really important to use both of our dispel items. Be careful with the unit of 30 saurus. They will lose pretty badly if the chaos warriors are of equal number. Make sure you get either a double charge or have whittled chaos down so you have a significant model lead. With Tetto the vanguard will help lining up the charges and remember: Alot of chaos is frenzied, so use your chaff to redirect and flank charge whenever possible.
Lord Kroak is a fine general if you play him right. I'd throw in 1 more Skink Priest and have him roll around with the Skinks to cast through. I'd cut some CoC and add some TG. I'd prefer 25+ as TG aren't the best 'elite' infantry out there and still tend to die pretty fast. Saurus are pretty weak too. You're not going to have very good buffs with just tetto'eko buffing so it's important to cause heavy losses with Kroak prior to CC.
Kroak will only do damage, slanns are used for debuffing the enemy so hard he won't deal damage, -2 to hit for example! You will need it against chaos!
