Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've played any games of warhammer (like 2 years) and I just stumbled upon this forum. Firstly, it looks great. Lots of good stuff here. Secondly, I plan on getting back into some games with my lizzies (after I brush the dust off haha) and I was hoping you would help me out with the 2000pts. list I drafted up. Slann: 3 Disciplines (Becalming, Mystery, Rumination), Battle Standard, Lore of Life Scar-vet: Shield, Light Armour, Dargonhelm, Dawnstone Scar-vet: Shield, Gambler's Armour, Venom of the Firefly Frog 30 Saurus: Full Command, Board & Sword 10 Skirmishers: Blowpipes 10 Skirmishers: Jav & Shield 20 Temple Guard: Full Command 3 Terradons 7 Chameleon Skinks 3 Kroxigor 2 Sallies The idea is that I want to be able to crush my opponents in the centre with my tough saurus blocks and just harry/delay the flanks while I push through the middle with my slann boosting them. Chameleon skinks and terradons should take care of war machines and ranged units. I think it's a pretty solid list but I have a couple of concerns. I know I have a rock solid centre with the TG and Saurus, but I'm not too sure how well protected my flanks are. Should I include something a little more solid (ie a steg)? Character builds have always been a struggle for me. Am I putting too many points into these guys? Any feedback/criticism would be awesome! You guys are the experts!
Welcome to the forums! Pretty solid list indeed. Your Salamanders and Kroxigor can cover your flank for you if used properly. If you turn your Krox into Skrox you can take advantage of the skink meat shield to keep your Krox alive after being charged by some knights or something worse. My scar-vets usually come in at 130-160 points a piece. So no, you are probably not putting too much into them. You may want to look into a dispel scroll or the cube of darkness for your slann. A magic banner for him or the TG would be beneficial as well. Where are you planning on putting the scar-vets? Both in the Saurus block? One in the TG, one in the Saurus? With the skinks!? Solo unit of two!?!? (I wouldn't do that last option unless you mount them)
haha allow me to enlighten you on the scar-vet dilemma. I was thinking of putting one in each of the saurus units. As for the skrox, I find that the skinks almost defeat the purpose of the krox because they die so easily. Anything stronger than a stiff breeze kills them so to speak. I wanted to put the sun standard of Chotec on the TG in order to allow them to get into combat mostly intact, any suggestions for a magic banner? There's so much I want to fit into the list but I just don't have the points. Any things you think I can cut out? Thanks for the help btw!
