8th Ed. 2200 point tourney list

    Hey, folks.

    I'm trying to squeeze an army list from 2500 points down to 2200 points, and I'm having a hell of a time with not sacrificing a lot of stuff. Hopefully somebody can point out something I'm not seeing.

    With no further ado:

    2200 Pts - Lizardmen Roster

    Both of the Scar-Vets are going into the CoC unit (I really wish that I could fit 2 more CoC into that unit if I could), and the Skink Priest will be hanging out with one of the Skink Skirmisher units that deploys on a flank. The Slann will be in the Temple Guard block, of course.

    I really wanted to get a unit of Terradon Riders in there, but I can't really figure out how to make it work mathematically. I can't really take anything away from core, the only cut I can really make from Heroes would be to make the Skink Priest a Lvl 1, or to make do with only 1 Scar-vet. I really don't want to give up the Ancient Stegadon.

    Does anybody have any good suggestions?

    I would tool down on you Slann. Right now, he costs almost 25% of your armylist. And that's a hell of a lot to spend on something That only contributes to 1 phase of the game, namely 1 unit. Now if he had been a combatlord, like vampires or Chaos, he would be worth spending points on. Get rid of obsidian amulet, reservoir and focus of mystery. :)
    You still have a solid magicphase both on the offense and the defense.

    OK. I looked at your advice, checked out a few more builds, and I went back to retool a little bit. This is what I came up with.

    So I've actually increased the cost of my Slann by making him Ethereal and upgrading his Obsidian trinket, but I cut out the unit of Temple Guard that he was hiding in. That cut out a couple hundred points there. I was able to get the COR unit up to 2 ranks, and I got to put the Armour of Destiny on the second Scar-Vet, but I cut out their musician and champion. The unit of Teradon Riders is back in, so I'm feeling a lot happier about dealing with any cannons that I run into.

    I think this is looking a little bit closer to what I want to run. Does anybody have any advice as to whether I'm off in the right direction, or I've got it all wrong? This will be my first tournament outing with Lizardmen, so I'm not really sure on how this will play.
