Hi guys, I'm relatively new to the gaming side of the hobby. I've got a friend who has a few armies under his belt (WoC, Orcs, High Elves) that I have been playing a few games with. This particular list is for a 2250 game against WoC. I've only just gotten a reasonable grasp of all the rules (... I think), so please let me know if I've made mistakes, and also what you think of the list. Oh, and I'm new to the forum so: hello, and sorry about not knowing acronyms, etc. Slann Wandering Deliberations, Book of Ashtu Skink Chief 1 LA, shield, Crown of Command Skink Chief 2 LA, shield, BSB (the AP one) Priest 1 Ironcurse Icon Priest 2 ScarVet LA, GW, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone 20 Saurus HW, command Skroxigor Horde // 28 skinks, 3 krox Poison, command 20 skinks poison, command 8 Cold Ones command 3 Terradons Sky Leader, fireleech Stegadon, sharpened horns 2 salamander packs 2 x snacks total = 2245pts I just really like the skroxigor horde, so I figured I'd throw the Chiefs in there making them stubborn and armor piercing, letting them have some real hitting power. One priest in the horde, the other in the skink cohort, letting the Slann cast through them. Ironcurse in with the horde because it would look pretty tasty to war machines I guess. Slann is jack of all trades because... versatility and well, I'm pretty new to all this. /firstpost.
Welcome to L-O! Glad you made it here. If you're playing against Chaos, just do your best to use Spirit Leech from Lore of Death and Searing Doom from Lore of Metal. Those will be your go-to spells for most his stuff. Mystifying Miasma from Shadow can help out your Skinks when they inevitably get into combat with something better than they are. Try and reduce their Initiative to be less than that of your Skinks and you'll be a happy camper. Somewhat happy anyway. WoC are tough, lol. I don't really see anything awful with your list, so that's good. The Cavalry should be fun with the Scar-Vet in there. You might be surprised by their performance. I will say that I think the 20 Saurus will not last very long. It would be better if you upped their body count to something around 30. WoC can chew through them pretty easily. Wyssans Wildform from Beasts will help keep them on par with the Chaos troops, but it's not something you should count on. Can't go wrong with Salamanders What are your plans with the Slann? Going solo or joining a unit?
