So I will be going to the Battle on Beale indy GT next month and I haven't played a single game with the new LM rules. Perhaps foolishly then, I have already started working on my GT list. I am completely open to suggestions and will appreciate any and all help. Heres the current List Old Blood light armor, shield, great weapon, Stegadon helm (+1 leadership and save), Glyph necklace, and venom of the firefly frog Skink Priest lvl 2 on ancient stegadon EotG x2 dispel scrolls Skink chief bsb with Stegadon warspear on Stegadon 15 Saurus with full command and spears 15 Saurus with full command (old blood goes here) 10 skink skirmishers 10 skink skirmishers 22 skink with full command and 2 kroxigors (one of my favorite units from 4th ed can't wait to try them out again). 4 terradons 2 Salamander Hunting packs 1 Salamander Hunting pack I plain on having the saurus units forming the center with a stegadon on either flank. The Eotg will be supported by the skink/kroxigor unit on one flank and the warspear steg and salamanders will take care of the other.
Stegadon helm can only be used by a Skink Chief. Other than that, I would drop ranked Skinks and one of the Salamanders and give some extra equipment to the Oldblood. Give a Cold One to the Oldblood and add a 5xCoR (or 6) unit .
I will take this under advisement, but I REALLY like the skink/krox unit in 4th and I firmly believe one of the reasons that that 5th ed list didn't have them was that many players where taking them in lue of saurus units. I am hoping they perform close to how they used to, especially with the EotG tagging along on their flank. Plus then I would have to assemble/paint my CoR...ug. I'll see how they perform in a few test games.
Well I have come out on top in 2 test games against a very competent Empire player so far. I want to get a few test games in against warriors of chaos, dark elves and Vamps. I have played vamps before but I have yet to play either of the other armies in their current edition. Anything to watch out for with those armies?
