Oldblood -carnosaur -malming shield -scimitar -light armour 8 Str 5 attacks + 4 Str 7 attacks from carno Scar-Vet -BSB -Cold One -Burning Blade of Chotec -Shield of Mirrored Pool 4 str 5 flaming attacks with -2 to AS Skink Priest -lv 2 -EotG -Dispell -Diadiem purely used for dispell, 6 DD + scroll, but i could use warding and then burning alignment Skink Chief -Stegadon -Warspear 2D6+1 Str 5 impact hits? i love it 18 Saurus Warriors -Spears -Musician -Standard 18 Saurus Warriors -Spears -Musician -Standard 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers Razordon -extra handler Razordon -extra handler i want this army to be a pure all out HtH army. The BSB goes in with a unit of Saurus Warriors. i know the shield of mirrored pool isn't that great, but it sounds useful against magic themed army lists. the plan is to march straight forward and just hit them hard and hit em fast. hoping to try this list out this weekend. what do you guys think?? in put would be great!!
Skink Chief -Stegadon -Warspear 2D6+1 Str 5 impact hits? i love it Invest in an anchient steg and you will love the fact that it is 2d6+1 str 6 magical impact hits even more. Backed up by str 6 attacks from the steg and str 6 magic attacks from the chief on the first turn. Oldblood -carnosaur -malming shield -scimitar -light armour 8 Str 5 attacks + 4 Str 7 attacks from carno Invest in a blade of Tzunki or a realities blade. St5 is not all that and a bag of chips for a lord character. Str 6 and ingnore armor synergises well with the carnos str 7 attacks for taking down high armor and monsters.
I honestly like it a lot. I think it can do well against a lot of armies. You might look at lores and see which ones could help you get the Oldblood across the board more quickly. I know you had the priest solely for dispel purposes but if you gained an extra 2d6 movement in the first round, it could be worth it. I would definitely use the Oldblood to challenge anything and everything. Don't shortchange yourself the extra attacks from Frenzy on the Carnosaur! In a challenge those d3 wounds per wounding hit for the Carnosaur will be murder on your opponent. Quick thought, does the maiming shield attack at str 5 or at str 4 since you are presumably using the shield to get that extra attack? You already seem to know magic could prove tough to this army. Lore of Beasts could really wreck your plans! Shooting might as well. While I like the Razordons versus enemies immune to psychology don't underestimate the value of a Salamander panicking a unit. If I were in a tourney, I might take the Salamanders instead. Good looking list all around. It reminds me of my friends WoC list he beat me with Saturday afternoon. I get a re-match this weekend and am pretty sure I will get the victory this time, unless he has tweaked his list even more (he's testing for a 2250 tourney and I am the guinea pig).
its still alot of hitting power but the war spear counts as a lance so it wood do 2d6 str. 7 hits instead
Thanks Guys!! the Malming shield gives it a str 5 attack. it is an extra attack using the bearer's unmodified strength, so its 5. And i do want to use my Priest for dispell purposes, but if a come upon an army that lacks magic (ie. Dwarfs), then i wouldn't mind casting. i have thought about the lore of beasts and in that case, soley dispell purposes. I would look at lores, but seeing how its a skink priest, i believe i'm stuck with the lore of heavens. which is still fine with me. one question about the Potent of Warding. does this give me a ward save against magic missiles? because i only see that it says ranged attacks, in my mind i'm thinking against shooting. oh yah!! thanks for reminding me about the lance giving +2 str on the charge!!!! I forgot, that's why i didn't choose an ancient. i already get the +2 str to equal 2D6+1 str 7 hits, and on top of that, the regular stegadon gets more attacks than the ancient. And i happen to love my razordons over salamanders, but maybe some more trial and error before i completely make up my mind.
