Currently at my GW we have set up a Challenge Board, today i went from the 5th tier to the 3ed tier with this army. This is my current tourney list and its kind of cheesy but that's what tourney are. If anyone has any suggestions on how i can improve it let me know im always looking for constructive criticism. Im looking for suggestions as im planning on entering a tourney soon with this list or something similar to it. I don't know... But I wouldn't give this list much chance in my play area... They would just Target the EoTG then shoot your TG block down and simply stop your magic somewhat. By turn 3 I'ld have 2 flank charges and a front charge by some big unit...
Seems a bit of a one trick pony.. Waay too many points in characters for my taste, nothing in the way of units. Shooting really only has two targets and they are very expensive targets, if either get whittled down a bit they can't really be relied upon to win combat. Interesting to see how it will go in the long term.
People have tried to shoot down the stegadon but no one has done it yet. I would hope that you would kill a stegadon because the TG will not break from combat and on my turn i will have 2d6+2 Impact hits and 2d6 str 4 no armor save going after your units that are on me. Stegadons can be hard to deal with, when played right. Really though unless you take 4 scrolls and have 6 DD your not going to stop my magic. Your going to use all your scrolls in 2 turns or il get half my spells off. I dont think you would have anything on my flank on turn 3 because you would have to travel 28 inches to my temple guard, and the skinks are amazing speed bumbs when used properly. Things like making you charge my skinks because they are screening you then running away getting cough and having you get flanked by a stegadon or trying to roll 11 on 3 dice to get away will happen to some of your units. If its something i opt for, i could always just burning alignment you. Don't get me wrong, i understand where you coming from. Its just that if you don't tool your list against mine i don't think you would have a very good chance at going up against a list like this. Iv had 3 games today with people trying to take my flank. Iv had Hydras, Guy on Dragons, Chaos Knights with Lords and Exulted warriors try to do it today and i was able to stop them all, or counter act there movement so that i would either avoid them, focuse fire them down and not worry or reform and take it in the front. Yup thats another thing, i dont hit combat till very late in the game because im not going to advance to you and i set up in the back. Basically do Castle formation in the Middle of the Table. In retro spect a corner would be much better. 14-16 Power dice on Average though and some bound spells, there is not alot that can stop that.
Heh, that list doesn't have enough artillery to castle. If you face dwarves you are toast. Dwarf lists these days have at least 2 bolt throwers, a cannon or grudge thrower, an organ gun, and an anvil. This is before you factor in other shooting, which will annihilate your skinks. They could castle up, just as you have, and target all fire at the stegs first. I'd send my miners after stegs when they show up, to just make sure the skink priests are gone. Once those priests are gone, the magic phase will be easy to manage. Organ gun can roll forward and blast away. You'll only fight dwarf infantry if you come to them. Just saying, from a dwarf player's perspective, I'd see that list and breathe a sigh of relief!
Where do you get 2d6+2 a stegs only cause 1d6+1 unless you give a skink chief riding one the stegadon spear
Iv got 2 stegadons they would both charge thats why its 2d6 +2 not +1. Ops fixed my list i had 2 EOTG and the skinks are lvl 2 sorry typed out the list really late.
