While I am new the Lizardmen, I have been playing Warhammer for quite sometime (over 10 years I think now). So, here is a list for your consideration. I tend to like heavy infantry armies, so this list is definitely that. So, comments appreciated, and encouraged, and keep in mind, while I LOVE the Terradons, I neither have them at the moment, nor can I afford them at the moment, same with Kroxigors and Salamandors/Razordons. So, playing with what I've got, here is 2250:

    Slann Mage-Priest (375)
    Focus of Mystery, Focused Rumination
    Dispel Scroll
    Battle Standard Bearer

Skink Chief on Ancient Stegadon (380)
    Stegadon War Spear

    Skink Priest (130)
    2nd level
    Plaque of Tepok
    Cloak of Feathers

    18 Saurus Warriors (234)
    Standard Bearer
    Musician

    18 Saurus Warriors (234
    Standard Bearer Musician

12 Skink Skirmishers with Javelin Shield (102)

12 Skink Skirmishers with Blowpipes (90)

12 Skink Skirmishers with Blowpipes (90)

    20 Temple Guard (355)
    Revered Guardian
    Standard Bearer
    Musician

    6 Cold One Riders (260)
    Champion
    Standard Bearer
    Shield

    Total: 2250

    Thanks for your input.

Ok, Couple of Changes to above list, since I am 10 points over the point limit.

removing Dispel Scroll from Slann, adding Power Stone.

Remove Plaque of Tepok from skink Priest

Add Venom of Firefly Frog to Revered Guardian in Temple Guards

And that should make it 2250

Seems like a pretty solid hammer and anvil. The thing you need is a unit of terradons. They can do so many things, that it is pretty much worth tweaking your list to fit them in. If you changed your skinks to 2 units of skirmishers with blowpipes 10 strong, and one cohort of skinks with spear and shield 10 strong, you will trim the requisite 90 points. Many people are finding 4 terradons is where the sweet spot is, so you could probably trim elsewhere for 30 more points.

I definitely want the four terradons, and will likely do just such a thing as you suggest. At least, when I can afford it.

I am having fun putting the minis together, painting them, and especially basing them. I am custom building my basis, with balsa wood, some welded sheet steel (22 ga, fairly thin) and some rare earth magnets. Its nice to hold the base upside down and none of the models fall off. Especially the standard bearers, which tends to be top heavy.

Seems pretty solid, you've got a saurus wall for taking the charge, the Steg and Cav for counter charge, some skirmishers, and a decent magic repetoire, Terradons'd be good to help round, but as you say, it all costs money...

Im with Caneghem about the skinks, not a huge fan of squirmishers with the Jav./ shield, primarily as it costs extra points!

Only other suggestion Id make is to try and work a scroll or 2 into the list, as they're great insurance, especially with the amount of magic a lot of high tier lists are pumping out these days...

PS Love the basing idea, had a mate who mounted a whole Khorne daemon army (metal figures completely) on the same sort of setup, works a treat, just watch you don't snap the models off the bases!

My eventual plan is to form the ones with javelins and shields into a ranked unit, with a Kroxigor. I will then add more as time and money allow, eventually having three units of skirmishers with blowpipes.

Right now, the list as it is stated is every model I have save 2 COR. I wanted to get 2250 points as fast as possible and I did it by the cheapest, easiest means possible. Hence why there are no terradons. I tend to favor flyers (in my old Bret. army I loved the Pegasus Knights, but the sale of that army has well-financed the start of my Lizardman army).

I also agree about the dispel scrolls. Would love to work those in somehow, but have yet to figure out quite how yet. Perhaps adjusting the skinks a bit. I will look it over. Honestly, I forget have the time to use the things, and a lot of people in my area are favoring the Khorne daemon army of strike fast, strike hard, and no magic at all. Plus lots of Dwarfs. So, usually the dispel dice I have suffices with maybe one scroll.

I didn't get hurt too bad when I played my first game using a friend's Lizardmen against his Magic throwing Daemons, can't remember which ones since I have never played Chaos, and don't keep up with them, but was I think it was a Slaneesh army, I know it had the babes on the weird steeds, and the little magic wielding units.

Anyway, the comments are greatly appreciated, and I will definitely think about the blowpipe thing.

As for the basing thing, I worried about pulling the models off the bases. But the neat thing is, the magnets, while strong enough to hold well, are not so strong you can't work them off easily. I try not to pick up by the model, but use the base instead.

The hardest was the Slann, I had to use several of the magnets on his base to get it to hold well, but it does now, and it is like the one magnet on the plastic saurus. Holds well, but pulls right up appropriately. And using all those magnets wasn't a problem since on Ebay I got 1000 small rare earth magnets for 39.95 plus 5.00 shipping.

I am no great painter, I go for as close to tabletop quality as I can get, but will try to post some pictures once I have the finished product ready to go. ThoughI am quite proud of the shields.

There is a big tourney in Lexington, KY in September I attend, and I am planning on having it all done by then.
