With 8th Edition starting to seep in properly now, I've turned back to the Lizards after a 40k respite, and 8th editionified my Army for games nights. It goes a little like this: Slann Mage Priest "Aescul'Pax" Focus of Mystery, Focused Rumination Dispel Scroll 14 Temple Guard Standard, Champion 40D) Saurus Spearmen Full Command 24 Skink Cohorts with 3 Kroxigor Standard Saurus Scar Veteran "Mon'Hekaii, the Watcher" Battle Standard Bearer Cold One, Light Armour, Shield Sword of Quarrel 15 Skink Skirmishers 15 Skink Skirmishers 4 Terradons 3 Kroxigor Ancient 2 Salamanders Reasoning: Firstly, having fielded 30 Saurus Spears at 2,000 pts in 7th edition, the look of terror on an opponents face when you rack them up is classic. So I want to embelish this. Secondly, the Scar Vet BSb on Cold One is simply too nice a conversion to not use (I'll endevour to post a pic) Thirdly, I seriously dislike the look and idea of Cold One Cavalry- Lizards on Lizards... really??! and Fourthly, although dinosaurs were cool when I was 12, I don't really like them anymore. Tactic: Hard infantry core that can take on anything, with Skinks protecting the flanks of the Cohort, Temple Guard and Saurus. Terradons are pests, and a threat to War Machines. Slann for some serious magical carnage/ protection. 'Manders are better than ever now, and although the 3 Kroxigor may seem a little pointless, they (used to) bust some serious flanks. Any thoughts/ opinions most welcomed.
