7th Ed. 2250 WPS comp Lizardmen

    Hey, at the gaming club we use this comp system http://atlantis.sverok.net/WPS/RT_WPS_Comp.pdf.

    So here is the list ive been toying with and played the last two games with.


    Characters

    Slann: BSB, #Mystery, Rumination#, Cupped hands, Scroll, Banehead 435

    Scar-Vet: Cold one, light armour, enchanted shield, blade of chotec 145

    Scar-Vet: Great weapon, light armour, Shield, Charm of the Jaguar Warrior 121


    Core

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: Bpipe 70

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: Bpipe 70

    10 x Skinks: 50

    10 x Skinks: 50

    18 x Saurus Warriors: Spears, Std, Muso 234


    Special

    16 x Temple Guards: Full cmd, Warbanner 316

    3 x Terradon Riders 90

    6 x Cold one Cavalry: Std muso 240


    Rare

    2 x Salamander hunting packs 150

    So in general the list is pretty kind, with the WPS comp system when playing at the gaming club we never go below comp 15, this list is at 16 so i do have the option to toss around some points to make it a bit harder.

    Comments and suggestions are very welcome but please keep in mind the comp system if you have a suggestion for me, i rather stay at comp 16 then go down to 15 as it is, just a nice feeling.

    Why get the Plaque on your Slann? He's already in the TG unit so he doesn't need the 2+ Ward Save ;)

    I have debated about letting him roll without it but it is for safety, cannons, stone throwers etc, yeah i know he already got that 4+ ward save and is very hard to kill but somehow better safe then sorry for such a huge amount of points + bsb point and general.

    if the stone thrower actually hits your target, and then you fail your 2+ look out sir, then he wounds you, then you fail your 4+ ward save and then he rolls a 5or6 for wounds, AND THEN does that all again. Your Slaan isnt going anywhere mate.

    Give him Bane head and a dispell scroll for the same amount of points, and anyone taking a slann without bane head in a professional environment is doing something wrong.


    played a 3000point game against tomb kings and after 18+ successful stone thrower shots at my slann he didnt even scratch a wound, hell he hardly even scratched the temple guard.

    And remember that any bolt throwers or cannons or anything which penetrates ranks is always assumed to miss any characters in the rank unless they are US 5 or more. so he cant actually touch the slann with either of them unless he kills enough temple guard its not going to happen.

    it just isnt worth it in my opinion lol, any army which can somehow muster enough war machines to kill your slann in a tg unit is going to be so cheesy that you wont beat it anyway lol

    Hey, yes i am with you on that.

    Last game i played a few days ago i had changed the plaque into Banhead insteed, worked wonders.

    I am still wondering if i should get rid of the cupped hands and get another scroll, but in WPS comp envoirement you never face those 12 pd lists etc, 4 dd and a scroll works good so far, of course i have to focus a little on mage hunting to but thats no biggy.


    Not sure about the Cavalry either, perhaps a second unit of saurus warriors with spears would be of a better use but i have to play a few more games and see where im at.
