So I'm playing against a Dark Elf player in a 2250 match. I'm sure of somethings: he's going to use a Black dragon + lord, a mage on Dark Pegasus and possibly a Hydra. He will also use: The ring of Hotek, the armor that gives the character a 1+ save and the weapon that always hits on str 6. I'm planning on using a lone Slann, with bane head and Metal lore to snipe his lord on the dragon. There is a good chance the ring might be on the flying character. He will have to get withing 12 inch though so ill see how that goes. I could use those points to put a small Chameleon unit in it. Could also take some extra skinks and magic items instead. How does it look?
Why the maiming shield on the saurus scar-vet? There are some better armour/items you can put on him. Drop the cloak on the skink priest. There is really no point to him flying around, he will just get shot down. Give him some other item. Other than that is looks good. With the extra point I would add the third Salamander and a unit or two of ranked skinks.
Basically the skink has the cloak to fly around, while the Slann channels spells through it. The skink uses Heavens and the Heavens lore has a lot of spells that don't require a range, only a LoS. And I added the Maiming Shield to the Scar-vet for some added attacks. Maybe I could swap that for a regular shield and a Bone Statuette of Spite or a Charm of the Jaguar Warrior.
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior and Great weapon are a good combo. The Skink should not be flying. The Slann can only channel magic missiles through the Skink Priest, so giving him flying is not very helpful. With flying you will either be ahead of the army or behind it and it will be much harder to gain cover.
