Interestingly we got a host of bonuses with our characters, Knightly virtues and dwarves runes. My Slann has the rune of peace with drain magic and becalming cogitation meant I could dominate magic. My hero and priest had runes that gave -1 to shooting (as the scenario meant he had 5 turns to totally wipe me out) so I could sit in the TG unit with the sun standard and turtle. My old blood had the best combo, two brettonian virtues (purity and confidence) that meant he had a -1 to hit in a challenge and a 5+ ward. Also he gave the entire army a 6+ ward (or 5+ is st 5) and I got a huge amount of value from this. Turn 1 - me then him Fireball and the stegadon bound spell went off on his monster hunters infantry and took them to 3 A nasty hit on the spearmen with fiery convercation has them looking pretty rough. I mostly backed up trying to run the clock down He pressed forward but his magic was hampered by my efforts Turn 2 - me then him I again shot.and cast, less effectively. On my turn he suprised me - his Wood elf general had a dragon slaying sword and could reroll to hit and wounds. It was built to take down the carnosaur but he hit the temple guard (I was deprived of walk between worlds when rolled for magic) and his sorcerer on an eagle hit the other flank Partially because of some great ward rolls and partially because of rolling a 1 for stomps, we won combat by 2! They bounced back and we not following up. The treeman vs Saurus story all game was: him doing a few wounds, us winning on combat res, me refusing to follow up. My skinks also.shot two sisters dead! Turn 3 - me Skinks killed the sisters! Turn 3 - him The temple guard got charged again by the sorcerer on an eagle, the dragon and now by the treeman character. Infanty are awesome in 1.5! Again because of some good ward rolls and a "1" on dragon stomps, we won by 2. There was some GG however he didn't use stubborn with the treeman (bad choice) and it fled - and was run down. I think he forgot that it couldn't FBIGO. His.archers did 4 wounds to the stegadon, again kept alive by the ward Turn 4 - me I looked fairly in control here so my stegadon and carnosaur went for it. Archers got the last wound on the stegadon in stand and shoot My carnosaur hit combat. He was -1 to hit but the wood elf was rerolling 1's. He got me 3 times. On the wounds he got... A 6! My dragon was about to get it's head cut off but it has a 5+ ward and I got... A 6! The old blood did 3 wounds and the carnosaur got 1 more on stomp and we won combat. He GG and we did not follow up - I learnt my lesson about being cocky, that was close Rest of the game Because of the GG he couldn't charge the carnosaur so cut the head off the Trog. Later he charged the carnosaur again but could not get a 6, the ogre blade did the final 5 wounds needed Overall his rolling has been terrible and it didn't help how good us lizards are at building at breakable bricks. I think he made a mistake with charging the TG and definitely with not using stubborn on the treeman but winning was going to be a tall order. The scenario suited me so much, and I had built for it. That brick of temple guard has not yet used their stubborn and shieldwall. The campaign resulted in - 1 major win for him - 1 draw (that I was ahead of VPs so we called a win for me as the scenario required it) - 1 major win for me Definitely a fun way to enjoy the old world!
