Hi, I've decided to give lizardmen a try after a year and a bit of Brets. I didnt want normal list but a monster-mash type affair. I know against some builds it may struggle but some armies would have a massive problem with the size I think. Looking for ideas and thoughts bearing the "no slann" thing Oldblood, fencers blades, glittering scales, aura of quetlz, shield Scar-Vet, bsb, dragonhelm, dawnstone, shield, venom of firefly frog Skink Priest, EoTg,dispel scroll 33 Saurus Warriors, musician, standard 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers Stegadon Stegadon Stegadon Ancient Stegadon Comes to 2400 on the nose. First draft I did not have the EoTg as this makes the only mage a massive target...Is it worth it? Characters in the saurus and atleast a steg on each side. Cannons will be a problem, death magic too. Comments welcome.....
Lizardmen have TONS of monsters besides the Stegadon. Unfortunately I don't have my book on me, so someone will have to figure out the points cost. If you want monsters, you should put your Old Blood on a Carnosaur. Send him after all those yummy infantry guys... Put the Skink Priest on an Ancient Stegadon with Engine of the Gods. That way you are free for a bunch of Salamander monsters in the Rare slot, since Ancient Steg is now a hero. EoTG is worth it for sure, especially since you don't have a Slann. If you want some punch, put a Skink Chief on a Stegadon and give him the Stagadon Warspear. He'll probably break anything he charges with 2D6+1 magical impact hits. Then bust out some Terradons and Cold One Cavalry to replace your 3 remaining regular Stegs you'll be rockin' the monsters! Kroxigors are pretty mean too, so a cohort of skinks with some of those guys in for your core choice would just add to the monsters. You'll probably have to drop some Saurus and Skinks though. But hey, there will be tons of monsters! Just imagine it: A T-Rex flanked by 2 Triceratops with a bunch of Pterodactyls and Velociraptors leading the charge. Not to mention the fire-breathing Spinosauri that are covering the flanks! I can see the faces on the other players now: ...why are there so many monsters...
HAHA! Nice! I love to play themed lists! Here is one I've played and had lots of fun with at 3000 pts. Lord -Kroq-Gar Heroes -Chief BSB on ancient -Priest on EotG Core -CoR x20 Special -Terradonx3 -Steg -Steg Rare -Ancient It was lots of fun to run a stampede down the gaming board. The list lost miserably to some armies and overall is not above average but it was still very fun to play. Plus! You only have a few models so it makes for short games.
