Been out of the hobby for a while and just moved to an area with an active local group. Pulled out my O&Gs for a tourney. It was fun, but they still play the same as the old 5th edition. Already been there so wanted to look for something new with a and different feel. Spent many hours pouring over posts for WE and Lizards. Wanting to pull together an Army for a 2400 point banded tournement scheduled in a few months. Never liked Power gaming/gamers (so do not want to end up in band 1) and would prefer something competative but on the order of LoHammer.

2,400 point Tournement, banded, must have at least one command element for a unit to hold/contest.

    Any advice would be appreciated:

    Lords & Characters: 590 points

Slann, Becalming, Focused Rumination, Divine Plaque of Protection, Plaque of Tepok, Light
    - may need to swap one of the disciplines to avoid band 1. Run solo except for certain Dwarf combinations...

    Skink Priest, Cube of Darkness
    - hide or run with a unit of skink skirmishers

    Skink Priest, Dispel Scroll
    - hide or run with a unit of sking skirmishers

    Core: 1,286 points

2 Each 32 Saurus - HW, Shield, FC
    - in general plan to run 7 wide

    1 Each 12 Skink - Mus

    6 Each 10 Skink Skirmishers - Brave
    - These look like fun units unless facing a cav heavy army.

    Special: 204 points

    2 Each 8 Chameleom Skinks - Stalker
    - hunt war machines

    Rare: 320 points

1 Each 2 Salamanders with extra handlers

1 Each 2 Razordons with extra handlers

It's not a bad list at all. If you want to streamline, I'd get rid of a scroll caddy priest or even both (the Slann is pretty good at that job). Ditch the stalker in the chamos, all you get is +1 BS and are you really going to be in a situation where they all shoot and hit on 7's except him? Heck no! 'Cause then you wouldn't get poison (except him). You can take those points and get a BSB.

I run fast skink-heavy lists so I don't have much to say about the saurii and combat blocks. Maybe look at getting a steg...? That would definitely bump you up into a higher band, though.

Have fun and welcome back! Lizards are a great army that you can fine tune in a lot of interesting directions.

    Thanks, good food for thought.

Forgot to include the BSB on the Slann description, but did include it in the points.

Dropping the priest with the dispel, both stalkers, and some skirmishers or saurus would give enough points for a steg. Sould beef up the ability to trap anyone heading for the slann and provide some anti-cav capability. That said they look like easy points for artillery.

On the other hand the idea of dropping a priest for say a unit of terradons would fit my style. Too many options...

Scrub the Brave's from those Skirmisher units too, those points can definitely be put towards something better.

Looks like a fun list though, I'd love to hear how it goes!
