hello everyone im in a tournament this upcoming saturday and im running the lizzies. this list is a non slann mage list which i know is just not the best way to go about it when it comes to tournament but i think this list will work well, would like to hear imput even strategy with this list whatever help you want to give will be most helpful LORDS Saurus Oldblood Ogre Blade Armor of Destiny sheild Carnosaur HEROES lvl2 Skink Priest Diadem of power Ancient Stegadon with engine Talisman of Protection lvl1 skink Priest dispell scroll CORE 27 saurus warriors full command 26 saurus warriors full command 10 skirmish skinks 10 skirmish skinks Special Stegadon 8 Camo Skinks RARE Ancient Stegadon 2400 obviously after taking a look at the list you see that without the slann my main strategy is going to be to make up for the slann with brute force and a lot of it, any thoughts?
I would get Dawnstone on the Engine Priest, as it might keep him alive another turn or 2. And I would never buy the Talisman of Protection for anyone.
yea i felt the same way, just somewhere to put 15 points, not a good feeling haha. the dawnstone is 25 points and idk what i should part with on this list to make him have the dawnstone to be honest
LORDS Saurus Oldblood Ogre Blade Armor of Destiny sheild Carnosaur HEROES lvl2 Skink Priest(100) Diadem of power Ancient Stegadon with engine Dawn Stone lvl1 skink Priest dispell scroll CORE 26 saurus warriors full command 26 saurus warriors full command 10 skirmish skinks 10 skirmish skinks Special Stegadon 8 Camo Skinks RARE Ancient Stegadon 2399 actually that was easier than i thought, now this makes me feel better, but still open for debate
bsb is too good not be taken, So I'd drop carno and take CO instead, with those 190sh points you get full kitted scar vet bsb (if you have enough hero points, in that case switch scroll to the stega shaman and drop the other one)
i thought about running the BSB but in this list there will be a lot of stegadon support so based on the battles ive fought without 1 i havnt really needed it cause most the time i won combat, or they were stubborn. cold blooded is almost like having a bsb in itself, i found that magic defense was lacking so id rather have the diadem and another mage then the bsb with a scar vet, also found that the scar vet was always singled out in close combat even if he wasnt challenged, so i feel the carnosaur is also a better choice to have
Interesting build on your oldblood. I am thinking of builds as well, and for now I seem to like LA, charmed shield, burning blade of chotec, talisman of preservation and possibly the other tricksters shard. Using armour of destiny would open up the possibility of a great weapon/halberd, and you could use the spare points in magic allowance to buy the crown of command. However, did you have any situations with your oldblood where you could have used stubborn? (just curious because I never played with a carnosaur oldblood).
i did but its very rare, the 1 time i did have that option i was playing against chaos and i was up against juggernauts. used magic to boost their toughness to 8 and made insane saves to save it. i wouldnt bother with the crown of command because not only is it very rare your ever gunna need it but its only useful if you got an under manned squad that is gunna need to stick around to be useful. like cold one cav or a small block of saurus. other than that i like the ogre blade cause the old blood is pretty much the only thing that might strike first so why take that away from him haha. charmed shield is a good idea but with a 4 up ward chances are you can defend that easily enough. i guess all in all im willing to take the risk of losing the carno in place of 3 stegadons haha, as long as my leader on top of the carno stays alive im ok
What about: 4+ ward talisman Charmed Shield Ogre Blade l.armour. Same save as currently (carnosaurs gives +1 mount AS), takes first hit on 2+.
