8th Ed. 2400 Tourney List

    This list is for an upcoming tourney involving 6 games over two days that effectively plays all the pitched battles on page 141 except watchtower. Scoring is 20/0 on a sliding scale with 2400+ VP advantage yielding 20/0 and an additional 4 BP available per round based on objectives achieved by scoring units. Other considerations are:

    1) Only units with a command model are considered scoring units. Most objectives involve table quarters and/or deployment areas.
    2) There is no banding of armies and special characters are allowed.
    3) No special rules restricting magic or anything else.
    4) Units or models that are reduced to <50% or are fleeing at game's end grant 50% of VPs.

    My goal is to have a competitive list and to challenge myself by, ideally, including a unit of krox while not bringing a scroll caddy. I am willing to give up either of these if the argument is persuasive but like the additional spice of playing outside my comfort zone. Any and all ideas/critiques are welcome as I would like to identify where the list might run into serious problems in a non-comped environment.

    General - slaan, BSB, becalming, harmonic convergence, soul of stone, mystery. up to 20 point banner (likely +1 LD), channeling staff, iron-curse icon.

    SV Cowboy - SV on cold one with dawnstone, dragonhelm & either a) GW + other tricksters shard; or b) sword of up to 15 points.

    Core:

    3 units of 10 skirmish with javelin & shield with champ
    2 units of 10 cohort skinks with musician
    20 saurus with standard, musician & spears

    Special:
    27 temple guard, razor standard, musician
    6 krox with champ
    6 chameleons with champ

    Rare:
    2 units of 2 sallies each
