The next battle will be against Wood Elves. I don't know what can I expect from my rival, so I did this list. Opinions, please?

    - Slann (general) with cupped hands, bane head, banner of flame, focus, cogitation, rumination. Lore of Light

    - Skink priest (lvl2) with Cube of Darkness and dragonfly. EotG

    - 3 blocks of 20 saurus warriors. Musician and Standard.

    - 20 Temple guards with Razor Standard

    - 3 Terradons

    - 3 units of 1 salamander & 4 handlers

    - 2 units of 7 Chameleon skinks

The terradons are there only to test them in battle. It will be the first time I will play with them, so they are (more or less) a fixed unit.

you can only have 2 duplicate rares at that point level, so youll have to join 2 of the sallies together. other than that, lookin good

You might want to look at getting the sun standard of Chotek in there. It will help against the shooting from the wood elves. From what I remember other than maybe the big tree guys they have low armor saves so you might not need the razor standard. The TG will already lower the save by 2 and with flaming it'll be nice.

Wood elves were my very first army so one thing I do (though not many other players do apparently) is take a massive wardancer unit with a hero or two. just so long as one has the moonstone of hidden ways.

I use the moonstone to get them across the board immidiately and charge next turn. I watch in glee as my wild pack of wardancers use the killing blow dance and crank out enough wounds to kill whole knight regiments. or when my opponent thinks putting a character against me is ever a good idea...

I generally knock out 3 of my opponents block units before they can really stop it all the whil i have a fast shooting army they have to conend with. and they CAN soften you up with units of glade guard and that hail of doom arrow.

Be mindful of how and where the forests get placed on the board and if he deploys a unit of wardancers or treeekin at an unprecedented level with a hero be very careful. I've never been on the recieving end of this but it's decimated so many opponents for me.

Salamanders are always a good idea in any army also remember the flaming attacks are even more useful against tree spirits. I'd take as many as possible they are very mobile and really hurt elves.

If I can offer an opinion, one of my regular opponents is Wood Elves.

Since you're not sure what he's going to bring, I would suggest a couple large blocks of Saurus or Temple guard ( with your slann of course :D ). There's nothing he'll be able to do against a decent sized block.

Be wary of flank charges, cuz if he's smart that'll be how he attempts to break your line.

The salamanders ( as noted above) needed to be re-organized slightly but yes, LOVE EM!

His shooting will be... um, probably less then brutal. I know they have decent archers, but with a Sun Standard, and with our already decent armour... I'm never worried.

The last thing is he might bring a massive deathstar of TreeKin. Witch, if backed up with a life wizard and a BSB will be a pain. Make sure that your magic buffs are in place to be able to deal with em. But given enough time and Slann Magic-ness ( it's a word! ) Your troops will come out on top.

Remember that his treemen and treemen ancients ( actually ALL forest spirits) don't get their ward save VS magical attacks. So your priest will be raining hell between his spells and EoTG.

    Hope I've been insightful :D
