Seems pretty solid. I feel that I would want to drop one of saurus to beef up the other two units, and spend the extra points on a biggish unit of skirmishers. That'd be my only suggestion; I think that even if you didn't change the list at all, it'd do pretty good. This is good though, I've been trying to figure out how to get ancient stegs in my list, and I think I see how now.
I've been trying to fit in mini Scar-Vets with GW's but to no avail, I just can't put the units I want on the table if I include them. Battle Slaandard Bearer is awesome, haha. My original idea's looked over two blocks of 24 Spear Saurus with Full Command, but I feel two is just not quite enough. With the Slaan taking Lore of Life I'm hoping I can afford to have that little bit smaller units, afterall Saurus are pretty damn survivable before you even consider the new HW&S addition. With your suggestions, I could have two units of 24 Saurus, one unit of thirteen Skink Skirmishers. Not sure it's worth it but I'll take a look at it if my 18 Saurus blocks crumble too easily. I agree 100%. Keep those saurus steadfast on the flanks of the temple guard, and make the enemy decide which giant tar pit they want to get stuck in.
