I am under the firm belief that Large Blocks of troops win games in 8th, and seeing as I was running large blocks of infantry in 7th, I was very happy with some of the changes made in 8th. I usually run this list with a Life Slann and ancient Steg, but with the Steg being a bit underwhelming recently, Ive looked for an alternative. So Changing the Krox for the Steg, and adding Lore of Light I have come up with this list. Its a straight forward, grind you down list. Salamanders are to hold flanks, with TG+Slann forming my middle. Krox are a hammer unit, and chameleons are my disruptor. I am not sure about the Scar Vets, but dont know if their points would be better spent somewhere else. Some games they have been great, others just terrible. If you have any thought or suggestions let me know. Advice and opinions are always welcome.

Just some opinions since it sounds like you have way more experience that I.
I'm not a fan of Focus of Mystery, it's 50 points for 2 spells, odds are in your favor you're going to get a you-choose spell by rolling a double, and as far as I know none of the lores have spells where you HAVE to have each one. If you really want the assurance you'll have the spells you want from the lore, buy a Plaque of Tepok for 15 points which would make it super rare for you to ever not have that one spell you need, while saving yourself 35 points.

I think the Standard of Discipline is also wasted. You're LD 9, and because of cold blooded you roll 3d6 and discard the highest, you will never use the magical standard enough to justify it.

Use those 45 extra points to buff your scar veterans! Woo!

Lastly, if you're playing a shootie army, the perfect counter for huge blocks of infantry is the MSU strategy. They can keep you bogged down and still shoot at you ever turn with their sacrificial units repeatedly halting your charge. Maybe not something to worry about in your area, but it's something to keep in mind in case you start running into this strat.
