Going to be doing a league with my Warhammer group. In the league, we run a single 2500 point list for all games, you cannot change your list or lores in-between matchups. Right now we are in playtest mode but at the start of 2014 we have to have our list ready.

    League Info:

League Scoring will be 20:0 as follows:
    Draw: 10-10 (VP Diff: 0-249)
Minor Victory: 13-7 (VP Diff 250-599)
Major Victor 16-4 (VP Diff 600-1199)
    Massacre 20-0 (VP Diff 1200+)

    All scenarios as written except:

    Blood and Glroy:
    - Must have a starting Fort of at least 4. Game lasts for 6 turns, scoring is:
2500 Divided by “Opponent’s Starting Fortitude” Multiplied by “Difference in Opponent’s Starting and Ending Fortitude”.

Round decimals to the nearest whole number. Ignore all bonus victory point conditions (slaying general, capturing standard, winning a challenge, etc).

    Watchtower:
We are using the optional building destruction rules. The rubble becomes the objective if destroyed. Holding the tower is worth 6 of the 20 available points, the other 14 are divided out according to strength of victory. Also, during Remaining Moves, you cannot move a unit into the tower if another one of your units started the turn in the tower, so no swapping units in a single movement phase.

    My Matchups:

    Dawn Attack: Daemons of Chaos
Battle for the Pass: Dark Elves (New Book)
    Blood and Glory: Vampire Counts
    Meeting Engagement: Wood Elves
    Watchtower: Warriors of Chaos

Battleline: Challenge Round. After all other rounds have been fought, starting with the player with the lowest overall League Score players can issue challenges to their opponent. You have to accept a challenge and cannot issue one if you are already challenged. So, basically, the players that do the worst get the opportunity to pick their matchup for the last round.

    List (2500 points):

    Lord:
Slann Mage-Priest (General, BSB - High Magic):
    Forbidden Rod, Skavenpelt Banner
Focus of Mystery, Becalming Cogitation, Soul of Stone, Reservoir of Eldrich Energy

    Hero:
    Skink Priest (Beasts):
    Dispell Scroll

    Saurus Scar-Vet
Cold One, GW, Armour of Fortune, Edit: Armor of Destiny

    Core:
    Saurus Warriors X 30 (Edit: Up from X 24)
    Full Command, Spears

    Saurus Warriors X24
    Full Command, HW

    Skink Skirmishers x 10

    Skink Skirmishers x 10 (Edit - Added)

    Skink Skirmishers x 10 (Edit - Added)

    Skink Skirmishers x 10 (Edit - Added)

    Special:
    Temple Guard x 26
Full Command, Banner of Eternal Flame

    Ripperdactyl Rider x3

    Chameleon Skinks x 6

    Bastiladon:
    Solar Engine

    Rare:
    Salamander Hunting Pack
    (Edit: Extra Handler)

    Ancient Stegadon:
    Sharpened Horns

I have some time to perfect a list and get some play testing in. My thought is that I need some powerful magic, but I'm also missing having my Cowboy be a Scar-vet instead of an Oldblood. I would like to run a Slann simply because I finally got my Temple Guard all painted and they look great on the table. ;)

    Thanks for your input!

    Re: 2500 League, All Comers/Scenarios

Personally I'd go with banner of +1Ld for the slann, then you can upgrade your scar vet to armour of destiny
    More skinks
With 1 spare point you can give your sally an extra handler
Maybe merge the saurus to a horde?
Cube of darkness>dispel scroll and worth the 5pts if you can find it
    TG pics please ;)

The one thing I would definately do is merge the Saurus into one block of 30sth and buy more Skinks with those points.

You're very low on redirectors for an allcomers list.

    Thanks for the input.

I dropped a unit of Saurus and bumped up the remaining unit to 30 with spears. I added three more units of Skink Skirmishers cause I totally agree on too few redirectors.

Had a enough left over points to get the Scarvet's armor upgraded to Destiny and get the extra handler for the Salamander. The Leadership standard was typically in my lists with the previous book, but I think I need the Temple Guard to be a bit more killy on their own because I may not be able to do it with our less reliable magic, so I'm sticking with Skaven Pelt for now. I could change though.

I'd like to get up picks of my whole army but I an unable to get good photos it seems. I need better light for the pics I think. Probably have to wait until I have a free weekend when I can get some natural light since its almost dark by the time I get home from work this time of year.

I don't necessarily think the cube is better than the scroll. If you are dispelling Purple Sun, you want it *gone*, not a 1/6 chance to lose the game on a one.

The cube and scroll makes a good defense though if you can find a use for the extra caddy (l4 heavens, 2xl2 heavens? Guarantees the slann his choice of spells).

I also think a more offensive bsb is fine. I've always thought cold blooded 10 was overkill, but you may like a simple razor banner better than skavenpelt. Razor will help the supporting attacks and your TG won't have forced overruns. Skavenpelt works great on CoR where both the mount and rider get an attack - 36 attacks from 6 guys. It is less useful on TG.

I think Armour of Destiny over the top for the SV.
I like GW LA Dragonhelm Luckstone. Nice and cheap and still very survivable to everything except ignore armor saves.

With the mighty slann you have and beast priest I don't know if you'll ever have a spare die for the laser cannon bastildon. With just a few spare points from somewhere you could get a normally steggie instead.

But if you have the model and like stamp giver'

    Rest looks good.

I like list in general, but I'm not sure how I feel about the size of your camo skinks or rippers. They both seem a bit small; doing some research six appears to be the magic number for rippers to be awesome and survivable and six camo skinks might not be enough to eliminate that pesky unit behind lines in a single go if that's your only oppurtunity. If they are just meant as distractions, pressure or annoyances then they'll do the job. Your judgement is best since you are playtesting. I personally like the bastilidon; I like to use it as an easy cast that really makes your opponent wonder if he can risk a dispell with a single dice and it's sturdy enough to hold up a flank against some fast cav. Good luck in your games.

I'd love to hear how this list performs for you! I'm considering a very similar list to bring to Adepticon 2014 (fewer TG, no ripperdactyls, no bastiladon, and add a unit of Kroxigors). Please let us know how this list performs for you in the league!
