    so, after a few games in 7th I'm finally gonna get to play some games in 8th (my local whfb scene sucks major ass :( ) and I'm trying to build my list up to something bigger, I'm thinking something like this:

    Lord 470
    Slaan Mage Priest
    -4 disciplines
    ++Focus Mystery
    ++Focused Rumination
    ++Higher State of Consciousness
    ++Unfathomable Presence
    -cupped hands of the old ones

    Heros 545
    Skink Priest
    -Engine of the Gods
    -L2
    -Plaque of Tepok

    Scar Vet
    -Light Armor
    Burning Blade of Chotec
    Maiming Shield

    Core 810
    20 Saurus
    -spears
    -fc

    20 Saurus
    -spears
    -fc

    20 Saurus
    -spears
    -fc

    Special 515
    20 Temple Guard
    -fc
    -Sun Standard of Chotec

    10 Chameleon Skinks

    Rare 160
    Salamander Hunting Pack
    +1 handler

    Salamander Hunting Pack
    +1 handler

    The Slaan will be either death, light, or life, and run with the tg of course. I figure the 3 blocks of Saurus should be able to deal with nearly anything, and at least 2 should always be within range of the slaan to receive healing/buffs. The Chameleon Skinks should be able to deal with beasties and or warmachines. The Salamanders can run up the flanks to wreak death and havoc (hopefully). Not sure where the Scarvet is gonna go, either with the Saurus that arent in buff range or in with the temple guard. The EoTG will be back behind the main battle line throwing up the ward save buble and buffing/spewing lightning, I would leave enough space in between units for it to fit through to get off flank charges with when the enemy hits my lines.
    thoughts?

    When running with TG, I don't think you really need ethereal+MR3. The TG are there to soak up wounds, let them take care of it.

    That said, Becalming Cogitation is nice as you can really mess up an enemy caster with it.

    How about the pts you save dropping to 3 abilities, give the slann BSB instead?

    Haven't tried myself, but everyone seems to say champs aren't really necessary in saurus blocks.

    I'd split the chams into 2x5, so you can split fire and/or harass both flanks.

    dropping the discipline, adding the bsb, and dropping the champs leaves you with almost enough pts to buy a 3rd salamander, or more chams, or skink skirmishers.
