8th Ed. 2500 List with Beefy Slann

    This is a list I'm working on for my next Local Store Tournament. The top armies are usually WoC, Orcs and Goblins, and Dark Elves.

    Slann
    Harmonic, Mystery, Eldritch, (Soul of Stone OR Becalming Cogitation)
    Channeling Staff, Obsidian Lodestone

    Scar Vet on Cold One with Great Weapon and Armor of Destiny

    Tetto'eko

    Core:
    4x 10 Skinks with Jav & Shield
    10 Skink Cohorts (Tetto'eko will live here)
    25 Saurus with Hand Weapons, Standard & Musician

    26 Temple Guard w/ Full Command (the Slann will live here)

    2 Salamanders (one unit)

    5 Chameleon Skinks

    3 Ripperdactyls

    Ancient Stegadon w/ Engine of the Gods

    My plan is to

    (1) use Tetto'eko to vanguard the Salamanders to get within effective shooting range on turn one.

    (2) Shoot things with skinks.

    (3) Sit back with the Temple Guard, Saurus, and Stegadon and wait for my opponent to come to me.

    (4) Depending on how the Winds of Magic/Channel work out for me either try to spam Fiery Convocation/Comet on the big scary blocks or shoot some Thunderbolts/CHain Lightnings at scray single models.

    I've been losing games because I keep getting my Saurus run into by deathstars of killing machines. I'm hoping to at least kill some chaff with my skinks, salamanders and rippers and to not lose my Temple Guard, Saurus and Stegadon. And possibly breaking those deathstars with a late game multi-charge from the TG, Saurus, and Stegadon.

    I'm a little nervous about not having a scroll and because of that I'm thinking about taking Becalming Cogitation over Soul of Stone. But since I want to get off some pretty big spells, the Stone Soul might come in handy. Not sure yet.
