I've switched to 40K lately but my buddy plays Undead and him and I haven't got a solid 2.5k game in since his new book came out and we decided to do one before the new LM book comes out so we can compare the results. I'm running a fairly standard list but I've sunk alot of points into my Slaan. Slaan w/ Cupped Hands, BSB, Focused Rumination, Focus of Mystery, Becalming Cognitation, Higher State of Consciousness, Healing Potion, Lore of Life Scar Vet w/ Buring Blade of Chotec, Enchanted Shield, Glittering Scales Scar Vet w/ Swird of Strife, Venom of the Firefly Frog, Light Armour, Shield 30 Saurus Warrior w/ Standard/Music 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 11 Skink Skirmishers 6 Chameleon Skinks 6 Chameleon Skinks 30 Temple Guard w/ Full Command 1 Salamander w/ extra Handler 1 Salamander w/ extra Handler 1 Stegadon Both my Scar Vet's are going in the TG block. The one with the Flaming Sword is to deal with challenges and the one with the VotFF is for killing as many troops as possible. The Slaan is hoping to land Throne of Vines then + toughness on the TG making them near unkillable. I'm open to suggestions about tweaking this list but nothing to major as this list is also dependent on the models I own. I'm not buying anything new until the release.
Surprised no one commented on this list... The Healing Potion is pointless on a Life Slann. Every time he casts a spell he'll get a wound back anyway. No worries there. Cupped Hands might not get used either due to Throne of Vines. Both Scar-Vets are illegal unfortunately. The first guy has two items from Magic Armor, so that's a no-go. The second guy has the Venom, but remember that Venom only applies to mundane weapons. It won't apply to the Sword of Strife. Look around the tactics section and you'll see some really good Scar-Vet builds that will fare quite well. The rest of the list looks good. There are a lot of TG, but that's ok I guess. I'd consider putting one Scar-Vet in each block of Saurus though. And I would also recommend getting the Champion for the regular Saurus block. He's handy more often than not.
