I want to get into lizardmen but 1) I dont want a slaan...they are boring 2) I want a couple of monsters....they are fun I really hate what they did with the skrox units but i do love them and want to take them. However this means that the list will not be competitive in anyway so just want the army to look good and have some fun playing. So I can up with the following Lords Old Blood Great Weapon Armour of Destiny, Dawn Stone, OTS (S7 with a 2+, 2+, 4++ and re-roll successful ward saves) Hero's Scar-Vet BSB Great Weapon Light Armour, Shield Stegadon Helm Carnosaur Skink Priest (beasts) Dispel Scroll Skink Priest (beasts) Cube of Darkness (2 Level 1 Skink priests with scrolls to shut down the magic phase when needed, both priests will take the sig spell) Core 2 units of 32 skinks with 4 krox in each 3 units of 10 skink skirmishers Special 24 Temple Guard Full Command Razor Standard Bastilladon with solar engine 2 units of 3 terradons both have the flaming leeches Rare 2 units of 1 salamander And thats it. I think its a nice balanced list with nothing over powered or ridiculous. If i can i would like to find the point to upgrade the skink priests to level 2's (or atleast 1 skink priest) To get this to 3k i add in 2 ancient stegs
You definitely want one of those priests to be level 2. Good luck with the list should be fun and pretty reasonable as long as their aren't to many cannons. Turns 1&2 just toss six dice at the laser cannon (or iceshard warmachines), then start of the debuffing
I wouldn't upgrade one of the priests to lvl 2, 1 might do with the 2 scrolls, but be prepared to be trampled in magic phases. ALso i'd probably go for heavens, it's easier to cast and -1 to be hit, and -1 to ld matches well with the terror effects your monsters provide you. It becomes plausible when dual charging to have your saurus BE hit on 5+ for ws 1 opponents, and 6+ because iceshard gives -1. 7+ will also go off with 2 dice, where the 10+ wyssan's might not be castable at all.
I would totally try to get one or both priests to level two. There are so many good spells if you are able to cast the savage beast of horros on high power and affect your Oldblood and vet enemy units will drop like flies. It's also very handy if the Oldblood has to go up against a chaos Lord or ogre tyrant
