LORDS Saurus Oldblood Carnosaur Scimitar of the sun resplendant Talismen of Preservation Additional Hand Weapon HEROES lvl2 Skink Priest Ancient Stegadon with Engine of the Gods Sword of Anti Heroes Saurus Scar Veteran light Armor Battle Standard Either Plaque of Domination or Sun Standard of Chotec CORE 20 Saurus Warriors Full Command 20 Saurus Spears Full Command 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers Special 6 Kroxigor Stegadon 6 Chameleon Skinks RARE 2 Salamanders with 6 skink handlers Hit exactly 2500 with this list also with the addition of the chameleon skinks i feel that i can get my beasts the help they need when it comes to war machines, also on top of that what i think needs work is the skink mage, i gave him the sword of heroes to just give the steg a little extra sting when a hero is in the unit but i feel like another item would be better with it, so if any of you got some useful tips with this list im all ears, very much appreciated
Re: 2500 point list, not a lot of magic but could use some h I haven't even played a game with lizardmen so take what I say with a pinch of salt... As far as I'm aware the additional hand weapon only gives an extra attack if paired with a hand weapon, not a magic weapon, so you can lose that. Personally I'd give the priest a dispel scroll or something for magic defence, at this points level most armies will have a level 4, and with only a level 2 you're going to get hit by a lot of spells. I like the scroll because it allows you to stop that giant pit of shades taking out all your Saurus in that crucial turn. I imagine the BSB is going with the Saurus, if so I doubt the Sun Standard will be much use, if I was your opponent your Saurus unit of 20 would be the least of my worries. The Plaque of Domination won't be much use because when your BSB is within 18" of enemy wizards he's likely to be in combat (or at least will be very soon), and with only a 4+ save he won't last very long. I think its better to have some magic items to keep him alive, than a banner that's likely to get him killed. At least give your BSB a shield, and the Oldblood needs light armour and a shield, or preferably the Charmed Shield so he can ignore a cannonball hit. Won't say anything about the rest of the army, hopefully someone with more lizardmen experience will come along and comment.
