I would leave the Ark of Sotek at home. When you got no jungle swamps, its not really needed in my opinion. And, you are 5 points over thats not allowed
Uhh not sure where you are getting your army rules from but your Slann is illegal. No cupped hands, no divine plaque...
I'd shave off those shields from your scar vets. They are on foot so I'm assuming they are in units and will get a "look out sir" from shooting. Seeing as how you can't use a GW and a shield at the same time in close combat, your just throwing points away. Also, seconded on what heuningby said. I think your using an old rulebook.
OK so i changed the slann completely. Took the shields away from the saurus characters and added in more chameleons and normal skinks. My regular opponents are high elves, Vampire counts, and dwarves, what do you think should be my playstyle against each?
I don't really play against Vampire Counts (always wanted to), but I play against High Elves regularly and own a pretty massive Dwarf army. High elves are nice due to their squishy nature, but be wary of those Frost Pheonix and ungodly amounts of bolt throwers. Lone monsters beware. If you had access to them, I would suggest getting some salamanders. I have just recently been convinced that they are amazing against low toughness troops. Don't be afraid of hammering your cold ones into those big units of spearmen. Even with their ASF and rerolls, they seldom score wounds, especially against high armor units like our cold ones. I'd also put a cowboy in there to deal some extra damage. If the High Elf player knows what he/she is doing, then be prepared for anti magic, because you will need it. As for Dwarves.... Hard to say. They are a tough one to beat with their new rule book. I've played 5 big games with them and haven't lost yet. If you come against a gun line, I'd use skink as a meat shield in front of your saurus. Do whatever you can to get the warmachines out of commission. Then you can outmaneuver them. Overwhelm them with magic. Yes, they have some nasty anit magic stuff, but I'd focus most of your damaging spells against the war machines, especially the organ gun. The organ gun is a broken nasty abomination. I ran three against another lizardmen player and wiped out two full units of saurus before they even saw combat. Granted, I had some nasty rolls, but still... Try to buff your troops in CC. Likely he will run GW on his warriors/longbeards, so be ready for some s5/s6 attacks from the entire unit. If you want to avoid a grind, don't get sucked into ironbreakers, 3+ armor save and 5+ parry means your going to be hitting your head against a rock. They work as a great anvil. I'm sure I have more info, but my break is over. Let me know if you have any questions about those two, especially the Dwarves.
You don't think i should use the ripperdactyls to take down war machines? Anyway what lore should the lvl 2 be. Thank you for all your help; we are actually planning to mostly play 2v2 battles and it will mainly be me and VC vs He and dwarves.
It wouldn't be a bad idea if you have them. I'd try it if I was playing against them. Keep in mind, dwarves are tough and their war machine crews are all stubborn, so you had better kill them all unless you want them rolling a break test on an unmodified leadership of 9. Anything you can do to tie them up early and prevent them from shooting will help. As for the lore... hard to say. With a little skink, I don't know that you'll get much magic out against them. I'd be tempted to tell you to run a slann. If you go with a skink priest, boost your troops use lore of beasts. I think heavens might be helpful against war machines, but I haven't used it in a while and would have to see what it has. And remember, cannons are nasty, but organ guns are unit killers. Prioritize your targets!
Whoops! For some reason I had it in my head that you took him out. Let us know how your next battle goes!
