Hey guys, This is a list I've been working on for some big tournaments next Spring. They are North American Tournaments so no ETC Comp rules. So far my play testing has shown some very promising results and I think I'm close to my final draft. I wanted to run it past you folks to see if you can see some areas of improvement that I may have overlooked. Tehenhauin, Ancient Stegadon---540 Skink Chief, Battle Standard Bearer, Burning Blade of Chotec, Dawnstone, Charmed Shield, Ancient Stegadon---405 Skink Priest, Level 2, Dispell Scroll---125 29 Skinks, Musician, Standard Bearer, 3 Kroxigors---324 30 Skinks, Musician, Standard Bearer, 3 Kroxigors---329 10 Skink Skirmishers, Javelins and Shields---80 9 Chameleon Skinks---108 9 Chameleon Skinks---108 3 Terradons---90 3 Terradons---90 2 Salamanders---150 2 Salamanders---150 Total: 2499 It seems the one thing I may have a fair amount of trouble with may be Tank Characters, such as a Red Fury Vamp Lord, High Elf Lord on Star Dragon, Bloodthirster etc. I don't think their is anything I can do about that other then avoid them or try to pit them with a Scrox block. Let me know what you guys think!
i feel like youd be better off making a 4 krox block of skrox, and getting rid of the other 2 and some cohorts to get more skirmishers cheers
Its definitely an interesting suggestion. I'll have to give it a try and see! Thanks for the reply. The one thing I'm a little worried about the change would be the loss of a fortitude point for Blood and Glory Type Scenarios. I would be left with only four so if a single Cannon Ball takes the head of my general or bsb that's Game over turn one.
Is Blood and Glory likely? A worst scenario would be Watchtower. Mixed Skink/Kroxigor blocks are technically Unique units and thus can't garisson buildings. Perhaps take a 20 model Skink Cohort sans Kroxigor to use as a light flanking force. You could give them a standard to help B&G if that scenario comes up and use them to garison the Watch Tower if that scenario comes up. To pay for the cohort (or at least a piece of that cohort, I'd drop the javelin skirmishers. You have enough Chamo Skinks and Terradons to fill in the annoying Skirmisher niche in this army.
Fortitude Point Scenarios are seen in almost all tournaments in my area. Maybe not Blood and Glory specifically as sometimes the tournament organizers will have custom scenarios made. Watchtower is rarely used. Rare enough that I've played it only once in a tournament in the last five years. Do you guys see watchtower a lot in your neck of the woods? I still have not had a chance to play test the single cohort but I'll be sure to post back after I give it a try. I'm going to steer clear of trying out a ranked unit of 20 skinks simply since I don't expect watchtower. Thanks for the comments.
