Hello! Ive prepared a 2500 points lizardmen army and wanted to see what you guys think about it. ill also post the strategy ill be using please rate and tell me what im doing right/wrong. Slaan mage priest: BSB, focus of mystery, focused rumination, Lore of light Skink priest: LVL 1, forbidden rod, Channeling Staff 2 units of 25 saurus warriors with Hand weapons and shields, full command 2 units of 10 skink skirmishers with blowpipes 1 unit of 10 skink skirmishers with javelin/shields 1 unit of 20 temple Guards: full command, razor standard 1 unit of 12 saurus cavalry: full command, banner of swiftness 1 unit of 10 cameleon skinks 1 unit of 3 Razordon packs Tactics are simple: saurus and temple guard hold the center, skinks with blowpipe and cameleons harass enemy key units. cold one cavalry moves up a flank with skinks with javelin as a cover(javs can also distract units in the flanks). Razordon will hold the other flank and prevent flank charges. Slaan cast a barage of spell, skink priest gives power dice Blowing himself up at the right time for D6 additional power dice Thanks for your comments !
Think you've got some good ideas, I like the razordons since sallies aren't as useful with Lore of Light Saurus smacking things around. The CoC is also an acceptable choice with Light. My main thing is that I think your centre is likely to crumble in some matchups, you have nothing to really fend for the Saurus and the Templeguard, and without Life they do go down much easier in those unitsizes. I also think your Slann is missing some key stuff, Cupped Hands is a must with Lore of Light when you're in a TG unit and I would highly recommend Becalming Cogitation aswell. Even if you need to trade Mystery for these I'd do it.
I would break the Chameleons up into 2 groups of 5. It gives more options and if you always want 10 shots in one spot you can just deploy them next to one another. You can't have the Forbidden Rod and Channeling Staff on 1 Priest as they are both Arcane. I would also take Cupped Hands on the Slaan... it's one of those items that is so good you always need to take it.
Well its up to you really, while the CoC and the Razordons are cool units and should fit in nicely they're not uber-competitive. If you'd like to keep them I'd consider skipping the TG alltogether and going with 2x40 Saurus hordes and an ethereal Slann. Temple Guard are quite vulnerable without Lore of Life, and with no characters, roadblocks or overwhelming numbers in your centre, alot of armies will be able to crack the blocks sadly. Done some testing back and forth with a Light List myself recently, if its of any interest: http://www.lustria-online.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8332
Well a wide formation is generally going to produce a lot more attacks which really plays into Lore of Light. The rear rank saurus are a small bonus, but the real strength is the 3 attacks each in the frontline with Timewarp. If you have a wider formation than the unit you're fighting you could be looking at 40-50 attacks depending on the width of the unit you're fighting, while a 5wide formation would produce 20.
