Finally getting back into lizards after being relocated by the Air Force to San Antonio, Biloxi, and finally Phoenix in the span of a year. Without further delay, this is my list. Note: I prefer saurus heavily for the feel of the units, the fluff, and the fact I own almost no skinks and some 200 something saurus now. LORDS! Slann, Harmonic convergence, focus of mystery, BSB, Standard of discipline, channeling staff. CORE!! 30 Saurus warriors, musician, banner. 40 saurus warriors, musician, banner. 20 saurus warriors, musician, banner. SPECIAL!!!!! 36 temple guard, banner, musician, razor standard Bastilodon, sun gun This leaves me 310 points to play with. Questions, comments, advice for saurus heavy armies, concerns? I'll reply when I can! Thanks!
Probably would just spend the rest on skirmishers for redirecting or blocking to set up favorable charges. Against pretty much any opposing combat block, saurus will eventually get ground down. You will most likely need to set up flank charges and get a buff/hex off on the combat. Try your best to only have one combat going at a time to focus your spells on it, better to push one combat heavily in your favor than two kinda sorta in your favor. I suppose a skink priest with a scroll/cube wouldn't hurt either.
You need definately skinks! At least two units of 10. Why do you have 3 units of saurus with different amounts of saurus warriors in it? I should prefer 3x30, 5 wide, 6 deep musician and banner! Give them spears and let the enemy charge (you have Initiative 1 so mostly you strike last) Those 5 attacks extra will give you more combat resolution that that single +1 chargebonus! But 3 units is to much, i should advice to play 2x29, 2 scar-veterans on foot with the following equipments: Veteran 1: Sword of might, Enchanted Shield, Dawnstone, Light Armour (2+ Re-rollable armoursave) Veteran 2: Sword of Striking, Gamblers Armour, Dragonbane Gem, Shield (2+/6++) Maybe some ripperdactyls or a stegadon?
