Hello all, I have been having trouble against ogres for a while now and I have a list that I think might do the trick this time. He usually runs 18ish bulls, Golfag and 7 of his maneaters, 8 lead belchers, LVL 4 gut wizard, 3 mourn fangs and some times 2 cannons. I have given up on magic almost completely as I can never get irresistible when I need it or roll low for power dice, so with that being said I am not running a slann (gasp!) So here it is Old blood Col one, shield, piranha blade, armor of destiny Scarvet Carnosaur(blood roar+loping stride) GW, bsb, talisman of 4++, charmed shield LVL 2 skink priest beasts Scroll if dispell 25 Saurus warriors Spears, champ, standard bearer 6x groups of skink skirmishes with jav/shield Bastilidon solar engine 7x cold one riders ( old blood goes here) spears, champ, standard bearer Ancient steggy Sharpened horns Ancient steggy EotG Sharpened horns I haven't used cold one riders since 6th ed but I was thinking I can avoid stomps with the cold ones Cheers
This list turned out alright, the first game we had ended in a draw. I knew it could have gone better on my part, soI challenged the Ogres for a rematch where the lizards came out victorious!
Glad to hear it went well. Ogres are my other army, so I know how tough they can be. The list looks quite workable. If you intend to keep the same or similar list, go for it. If you want something a bit more competitive, I would drop the carno for another scarvet. Since he isn't bringing ironguts, he doesn't have a great way of handling 1+ armor besides the cannon, the man eaters, and maybe bonecrusher. Keep them in with the cold ones for a los, and skink the hell out of the mournfang. It looks pretty tough, so definitely jockey for position as best you can. However, there aren't enough Carnos out there so keep him in for sake of awesomeness. The leadbelchers are going to rip huge holes in your units, so try to get them down as soon as possible. Maybe drop a unit of skinks for chamos? If he leaves a flank open you can really mess up his plans with 6 or 7 chamos.
