I'm building a take all comers list, based on the models I have and on my 7th ed. list. This is what I've come up with so far.

    Slann
    -Reservoir of Eldritch Energy
    -Soul of Stone

    -Harmonic Convergence
    -Focus of Mystery
    -Channeling Staff
    -BSB

    Skink Priest
    -Lvl 2 Beasts
    -Dispel Scroll

    Skink Priest
    -Lvl 2 Beasts
    -Cube of Darkness

    Scar Veteran
    -Cold One
    -Enchanted Shield
    -Sword of Striking
    -Dawnstone

    25 Saurus
    -Full Command

    25 Saurus
    -Full Command

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    20 Temple Guard
    -Full Command
    -Standard of Discipline
    -Gold Sigil Sword

    8 Chameleon Skinks

    5 Cold One Cavalry

    Salamander

    Ancient Stegadon

It comes to just under 2500 points. Possible changes at this point are to drop the skirmishers down to two blocks of ten skinks and use the points to add in another Temple Guard and another five points of items on the Scar Vet., drop a chameleon, or change the Sallie to a Razordon to do the same thing. I can also swap the weapons between the TG Champion and the Scar Vet. Eventually, I want to switch out the COC for a Bastilladon, but I haven't bought the model yet.

    Thoughts, opinions?

I like it. Very similar to what I'm building up.

My only pointer (although I've only played 3ish games so far) is that the skink priests are wasted being lvl 2. The Slann is going to be knocking out spells like nobodies business so they don't really get a look in. It might be worth dropping those to lvl 1 to get another Salamander in? That's only drawing on my very limited experience though.

Love the Cube + Scroll combo - INSANE!!

Definitely agree with taking the Bastiladon. I3 Temple Guard is great, and I2 Saurus is less good but fantastic against Dwarfs and lots of undead things.

Hope it helps a little! :)

Like it a lot and is similar to my idea of 8ed all comers list
In my club we are easy on anti-magic so I do not combine 2 scrolls with Harmonic + staff
Other than that I find a flying chief or a unit of flyers extremely handy in majority of my games
    L1s are good enough imo

    Good luck!

Well, I'm currently 1-2 with the new army book. My last game was with a variant of this list and I lost. But it was to a very good WoC player. I didn't play my best game and could probably have used my magic phases better. But I think other than him, it is a pretty balanced list. I may make a couple minor changes, probably experiment with Wandering Deliberations on my Slann next as that seems to fit my style more than Loremaster High Magic does. My issue is that I need more things to cast besides hand of glory once I get into combat.

I will probably keep the priests at level 2 for a couple reasons. First, I like the extra +1 on casting. Second, having the second spell increases their threat to my opponents and their usefulness to me. Amber Spear, Curse of Anraheir, Pelt, and Savage Beast can all be game changers in the right situation.
