As much as I like Saurus, I wanted to try something different. 2500 Pts - Lizardmen Roster Total Roster Cost: 2500 Slann Mage-Priest (General) 1 Cupped Hands of the Old Ones 1 Divine Plaque of Protection 1 Focus of Mystery (Shadow) 1 Higher State of Consciousness 1 The Becalming Cogitation 1 The Focused Rumination Skink Priest lvl 2 1 Cloak of Feathers Skink Chief on regular stegadon 1 Stegadon War-Spear Skink Chief (Battle Standard Bearer) Extra Hand Weapon 1 Armour of Silvered Steel, 1 Luckstone Ancient Stegadon 6 Chameleon Skinks 6 Chameleon Skinks 3 Terradon Riders 1 Salamander Hunting Pack 4 Skink Handlers 1 Salamander Hunting Pack 4 Skink Handlers 40 Skinks, FC 10 Skink Skirmishers 22 Skinks 2 Kroxigor 22 Skinks 2 Kroxigor I have a big horde of skinks with BSB chief in the center flanked by two Skrox units and two stegadons for added punch. My chameleons and terradons take out any chars and warmachines if they can and harass. My sallies run up both flanks to take out heavily armored foes. All the while my flying skink priest moves into their backfield allowing my Slann to zip in with shadow lore and debuff the enemy like crazy. Hopefully by the time the armies meet in the center, the enemy is debuffed out the wazoo thus making my skinks seem downright punchy in comparison. Any comments from those of you who have built/played a skink army? I really wanted to get at least 4 stegadons in the list but the points ran out.
heeey. oh you mean you will cast all of the magic missiles from the lore of shadow through your priest? cause only magic missiles can count as being cast from the skink, your idea only worked with the 6 ed. book. you could take 10-15 skink chiefs and put em all in a unit of skrox one of them should be bsb with skaven pelt banner and then your slann takes lore of beasts you have 7 skink chiefs with 2 hand weapons in front rank with lore of beasts they can have either 35 ws4 s5 attacks or 71 ws4 s7 attacks both are with just one spell going off, that offcourse is silly but hey youre making a skink list sooo.... Slann Mage-Priest (General) 1 Cupped Hands of the Old Ones 1 crown of command 1 Divine Plaque of Protection 1 Focus of Mystery (beast) 1 Higher State of Consciousness 1 The Becalming Cogitation 1 The Focused Rumination Skink Chief (Battle Standard Bearer) skaven pelt banner skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. skink chief, add hand weapon. 6 chameleons 6 charms 6 Chameleon Skinks 6 Chameleon Skinks 2 sallies 1 sala 110 Skinks, FC, 5 kroxigors skink chiefs will be slaughtered once the enemy strikes back unless you get +1 t on the unit or +3 T on all of them so make sure to do one of those things and also remember the enemy can only hit the ones they are in base contact with and if you make almost all of your front rank T7 they pretty much cant kill anything. but any enemy will hate you if you field this list as it is..... if the enemy cant kill slann (who is ethereal) they can only beg for a draw unless your chameleons fail and his warmachines kill 50+ or wait i meant 90+ or maybe the only dangourus thing would be if they killed all of them and then started shooting chars sooooo.......
New poster here. I love the thought of all those skinks doing massive wounds. How would this list cope if the Slaan didn't get the spells needed to accomplish your goal? Would it be wiser to take Focus of Mystery to ensure you got the spells you needed??
heeey. mystery allready is included, and against a unit of 25 saurus they would kill 12, (6 bieng before the enemy hits) but it is very unlikely to not get off one of three spells. Slann Mage-Priest (General) 1 Cupped Hands of the Old Ones 1 crown of rommand 1 Divine Plaque of Protection 1 FOCUS OF MYSTERY (BEAST) 1 Higher State of Consciousness 1 The Becalming Cogitation 1 The Focused Rumination
Haha silly me overlooking that. I think I just saw Beast on that line and didn't read the rest of it. How would you bait out dispel scrolls in this instance to make sure your big spell goes off without a hitch? I haven't played since 1998 and I'm just getting back into things.
you just cast +1 S and T to be more resistant to shooting and magic and cast curse of anreheir wich unless the enemy does not move kills one third of the unit
I think what he means by getting his Slann behind them, is the Attribute allows you to switch places with a friendly Character with the same troop type within 18". With the Slann just being an oversized infantry model, he would be able to zip back there on the first or second turn!
