Hi all, below is my intended 2500 list. Some of the choices may seem strange but it relates to the minis I own. Could you have a quick check and see if I've left out anything glaring. I know it's not ultra optimised but it will hopefully do ok, or better with a bit of luck.

    Slann Mage-Priest;
BSB; Cupped Hands; Focus of Mystery; Becalming Cogitation; Focused Rumination

16 Temple Guard; Full Command (Slaan in here)

Skink Priest, Engine of the Gods; Dispel Scroll

Scar Vet; Sword of the Hornet; Enchanted Shield

24 Saurus Warriors, Full Command (vet goes here)

    25 Saurus Warriors, Full Command

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    6 Chameleon Skinks

    Stegadon

2 x Salamanders (both have extra handler)

Skink Chief, Terradon; Staff of the Lost Sun
    --------------------------

    Points of Lords: 445 (0 - 625)
    Points of Heroes: 625 (0 - 625)
    Points of Core: 669 (625 - Unlimited)
    Points of Special: 598 (0 - 1250)
    Points of Rare: 160 (0 - 625)
    Total Roster Cost: 2497

A lot of standard stuff eg. Slaan with the usual, 2 stegs (1 EoG). I wanted 2x5 chameleon skinks but can't get any before the tournament. I was short of some stuff too hence the Chief on Terradon. He's expected to be flying behind lines hunting mages, cannons etc along with the chameleons. Not confident about him but we'll see. 2 salamanders should do well. I expect the stegs will be targetted early. I would have liked blocks of 30 saurii but don't have enough minis. Anyway, anything blatantly obvious missing? Should the EoG priest be Lv2? More scrolls?

i like the list, even under the model restriction. why not proxy the skirmishers as chameleons? assuming they have blowpipes of course. the terradon chief might be a nice touch, not something you see often and with his speed and unassuming nature (honestly who would shoot a cannon at him and not a steg?) he might do you some good. id recommend switching to a more h2h orientated magic weapon though. use him to tie up warmachines in h2h, utilize the terradons stomp attack and at the minimum keep them from firing a turn.

You think just giving him a Great weapons or similar would work? Haven't got a lot of space for magic weapons though the staff is 25 I think.

On the chief, you could give him and extra hand weapon, or maybe a spear and he'd do well against crewman.

On a somewhat related note, Terradons get stomp!?

Nice list, you should be able to bring some pain to the tourny.

In my opinion, the engine isnt really competitive enough for the points, You could drop it to an ancient Steg for the 4D6 poisoned shots and keep your Spriest on it.

The points you save *along with maybe some other shavings* might let you bring another terradon or 2 to keep your chief company because personally, I'd want at least 3 terradons, the extra stomps might let you overrun into *possibly* another war machine.

There's my input, hope it helps

Im a big fan of the sword of hornets and I like your list, Let us know how you get along, I'll be rooting for you!

    How do you do that?
Doesn't the army book just say that he can choose to mount a "Stegadon with Engine Of The Gods"?

correct. Spriests can only choose an engine. chiefs get the option of reg or ancient.

Everyone made some good points so far
I agree that skirmishers into more chamos would be great but silly core requirements.

Sounds like a good list though, let us know how you did

Well, I agree with the statement above that the EotG isn't worth its points. Not even when it makes your priest a level 2 wizard for free. The miscasts are just to painfull. The Slann with Cupped Hands is just insane. Miscast ==> no prob, give it to opponent his wizard :) . A Skink Chief on an Ancient Steg would be better in 8th. My Scar vet always gets the combination you use, but sometimes I use Fencer's Blade.
