Hi, im kinda new to this forum im in the whfb world for over 7 years but only recently have i decided to settle on just one army. I think you have a pretty good guess which. Last weekend I participated in the biggest Croatian international turney with my lizards, did do so well but nonetheless i was the best placed lizardmen. AC was pretty heavy but i tried to do best, so here is the list I have some ideas of my own how to fix it but im also open for yours: Now I'm playing against my friends VC this weekend and i've decided to change the list a bit, first of all Slann, he will use lore of light now with earthing rod and crown of command, he ogt one miscast at tourney and he exploded, otherwise he didnt suffer 1 wound, second, the mvp's are stegadons, they rampaged as they wanted ( i avoided all the dwarves though) but they won the battle against the empie on their on survived 2 rounds of barrage and then slamming in the imperial lines and rampaged through third, im throwing out cavalry and salamanders, basically, they didnt do shit entire tournament, instead im throwing in another saurus block with spears and with the new lore of light they should do quite fine, also skink priest is now level 2 with dawnstone and scroll and last but not the least is not one 17 strong unit of skinks but 2, 11 and 12 strong. Sorry for the long topic, tried to give you the best picture i can and looking forward to becoming an active member
One thing I can't help thinking about your Slann, is that he is pretty vulnerable to Dweller's Bellow/Death nukes/Pit of Shades etc., wouldn't Cogitation be worth it to prevent short range nukes?
I know you switched to the Lore of Light, but if you ever run Shadow again, keep your Saurus characters on foot so you can take advantage of "Smoke and Mirrors".
@ Dunya: I know Slann is weak against that but on the other hand, isnt every slann weak against that? another thing is that magic was brutally cut down by the ac, for example you couldnt use 6 dices to roll a spell but 4, after channeling you could only ad 2 more pd so my rumination gave me only 2 extra dice, etc. I think you get the picture. So not many big spells were even attempted and I say, Slann didn't recieve a single wound, apart from blowing himself up with miscast. @ De_Railed612: Yea, switching to light and earthing rod on Slann, one explosion is enoguh for a lifetime. I like my Saurus characters on mounts, they are a lot tougher and smoke and mirrors in this type of a list arent so great, if slann wanted to get somewhere i simply casted steed of shadows everyone were letting it go in fear of other shadow spells. And since my blocks were always near i could always switch characters to be where they need to be, and the fun part is that slann was actually a lot more useful when in combat becasue he in most of the fights blocked almost a half of enemy unit from attacking becasue most of them didnet have magial attacks, it was quite annoying for the opponents, guess they all greeded for an easy kill on the slann
