Hey, my former roomate/buddy and I are going to play a game using each other's army books. He'll be playing DE and I'm having my first go with Lizzies. -Slann Mage Priest Harm conv, Focus o M, BSB, +1LD banner, +1 to channeling staff -Saurus Scar Vet Cold One, La, GW, Steggy helm I have 5pts left so either luck stone, 2++ vs flaming, or foolhardiness -Skink Priest Lvl1, Dispell Scroll CORE -Saurus Warriors x34 Full Command -Skink skirmishers x11 -Skink skirmishers x11 -Skink skirmishers x10 All with blowpipes SPECIAL -Temple Guard x30 Standard, Musician -Terradons x3 -Cold One Riders x5 Musician -Kroxigors x 6 RARE -Ancient Stegadon Unstoppable Stampede, engine of the gods Alright... The skink priest will take beasts and default to wyssyn's. Mr, engine of the gods will always lower the casting value of beasts. Mr. Slann will use the high magic lore attribute to also grab wyssyn's after the first magic phase. (well hopefully) If the skink casts on the kroxies or cold ones, he'll only need to get a natural 8 on the dice to cast his augment. Still means 3 dice, but I'm not sure its worth 35 pts for a Lvl2. I have two large blocks or infantry with saurus and Temple guard. I have 3 quality flanking/support units with the A Steg, Kroxies, and the Cold ones with the scar vet. The goal is to never let an infantry block go more than 1 round of combat without support from one of the flanking units. Both block have enough models to keep steadfast, and should be able to take one round from anything on the chin. (esp if they have wyssyn's) The skink priest will go in the small unit of skirmishers, hopefully placed to prevent some overrunning and in range to cast on whatever I choose. The other skinks will guard flanks vs low armor targets, and act as sacrificial lambs to redirect anything frenzied. Terradons are there for a drop, and warmachine/chariot hunting. This is a pretty straight forward combat army. High magic on the Slann gives me some versatility, and the potential to have S5 T5 rank and file troops. The cold ones are basically a bus for the scar vet, they provide fear, 3S4 attacks each, and have a 2+ save. Are they a waste? I have A LOT of S4 in this army. The krox ancient steg, and the scar vet are there to crack armor, is the buss worth 160pts? Should I just try ti fit an old blood in solo? Is this bus worth it? I could also use an Old Blood, give him a 4+ ward, steg helm, gw, on a cold one and gain 51 points. He'd have a 1+4++ S7 T6 d3 impact hits. He would be solo however. At 261 points, that's hefty to run solo. Or He could have cold one, glittering scales, talisman of pres, gw, dawnstone at 241pts. Leaving me 71 points to play with. This is my first lizzies list, plz be kind.
